Leobald beamed as Gemma explained that the books were indeed for him and the library. "I'm very grateful and so will the students also be I'm sure for the new books." He chirped in response. Producing his wand from its holster Leo said with assertion. "You can do this Gemma. The spell for fire-proofing books is pretty easy to learn. The incantation is 'Impervio Fira' and the wand movement is just a circular swish and tap motion."
Taking one of the muggle books that Gemma had placed in a pile on one of his office chairs, Leo preformed the circular swish and tap motion on the book and said "Impervio Fira." A red mist surrounded the book for a moment before it disappeared showing that the book was now inflammable and would withstand if Merlin forbid a new fire broke out in the library. "You should try it Gemma, its fun!" Leo beamed broadly and gestured toward the book pile.
"I'm not really certain if anything is getting redesigned in the reference section, I'm just glad that it's being restored to its former glimmer at all." Leo commented quietly. It had been quite nerve-racking to wait for the BoG board’s decision on what was going to happen with the section. Eyes widening a little with surprise Leo asked a little stumped but curious "So your bookshelves are filled with just muggle authors?" If that was the case then it was no wonder that Gemma taught Muggle Studies for a living.
Gemma shakes her head up and down as she watches him...o yah..he makes it look sooooo easy. Flicking her right wrist, her wand shoots out of it's wand holster and she picks up one of the more boring books from the pile...yes let's practice on the Muggle books since she as probably the only one that liked them...she thought holding back a little giggle.
She copied his motion as he did it to the book and then with a little deep breath, she focused hard on the book she had grabbed, "
You better get an Aguamenti charm ready just in case I set your office on fire..." she said jokingly with a little wink, but inside she didn't think she was really joking.
With a little circular swish and tap, she said the words, "
Impervio Fira." she shut her eyes and scrunched her shoulders up as the spell hit the book. The book became a red glare and then a little mist rose from it. She opened her eyes when she smelled a little bit of a burning smell but was surprised to see that the book looked okay and that nothing else was on fire. She started jumping up and down slightly, "
Wow, I think I did okay!" she said as more of a question than anything else.
Her face lit up as he asked about her book collection, "
Well, the majority of them are...I love Muggle comic books..." she paused to see what he thought about that, "
And anything about Muggle History...I like Wizarding History as well, but the archeologist in me finds Muggle history more exciting...." she said quickly with her face gleaming!
