When it was his turn, the sixth year leaned forward on his broom and accelerated ahead. He was able to navigate the first few poles with no incident, so he thought he'd try a little faster. Remembering how unsuccessful that was the last attempt, Ethan leaned forward just slightly to increase his speed.. moving faster, then a little faster still, zigzagging and weaving through all the poles until he reached the end. Pleased that he had not brushed any of the poles this time, the boy fist-pumped the air and headed back around, wondering what he should do next.
Ethan took a wide berth around the poles, flying more towards the center of the pitch to head back to the start. He was a bit preoccupied with how to make things a bit more interesting when his eyes wandered over to the others flying there. His eyes fell on a particular blonde girl and he smiled as he hovered in air, watching her for a moment. She was a good flier, a shoo-in for Quidditch.. And she must have spotted him too since she was headed towards him.
Wait, straight for him.. the boy's eyes widened slightly to see how fast Minerva was flying at him, then he grinned. A game of chicken perhaps? He stayed in his spot, unblinking eyes trained on her as she quickly approached, waiting to see if she would turn away first. At least she stopped before running into him and he smiled widely at her, chuckling at her words. "Well, thanks for not crashing into me.. Glad I could help you practice a bit." He glanced over at the poles and had an idea. Turning back to Minerva, he said, "Do you want to race? Might be good practice in maneuverability.." And that would certainly be helpful with Quidditch practice.
Minerva smiled and looked at the poles. A race.. this could be fun. She professor J say about another activity, which she would try, but she couldn't turn down a challenge of a race, especially from her boyfriend. She didn't care who won, but it would be fun either way. Grinning from ear to ear she shook her head.
"A race... Your on.." Minerva turned to face the poles and leaned headed towards them to get in line.
Once in line she smiled towards him,
"I love this class, it's so nice to be back on a broom. Let's come after classes so I can get some practice on my new broom. I have tryouts in the next few days." She was getting nervous about her tryouts. There were so many great players on the puff team, but she did have announcing so she wasn't to worried. Then it was their turn. She smiled,
"Ready??"
