In the end, Sierra decided the tracks she'd found were the prints of a deer. Having said that, she studied them, trying to come up with something good to say. To her, it looked like the deer had started out on a journey and changed its mind and turned back around. It also looked like some other animal had intervened at some point, crossing over the deer's path.

"So this is what I've determined about these tracks," Sierra said, spinning around and facing Ellwood. "They belong to a deer, and it looks like the deer started in a certain direction and then something changed his mind, so he turned around and went back. It also looks like some other animal interfered and crossed over the deer's path."

"I think this means I may try to go down one particular life path, but something will cause me to change me mind and turn around and take a different approach," she said. Yup. Made sense to her.
