As despite the ability to use a warming spell on it to reheat, there were times when it was better just to simply enjoy it the first time around. Better to not insult the meal's provider. The shopkeeper listened to Elinor as she described her day, nodding at times to show understanding to certain mentions...especially the mention of having to deal with few good people. "Yes, I did read about that case," he remarked, one of the few moments of her work that were shared with the general public outside anything Elinor might reveal to him any other way.
He met her gaze as she looked up at him, raising a slight eyebrow when it seemed she was on the verge of saying something to him and breaking the silence. Not to mention noticing the change in demeanor that was written across her face. Nigel didn't have to wait long for there to be some incling as to what had brought the change on. Her mother? Alright. So her mother had sent her a letter, that the older woman deemed important.
