Gideon didn't seem like the type to do that anyway. So...maybe the cookies weren't as bad as she thought.
"You're welcome," she replied. "And thank you too." For many things, but mainly for being her friend. They weren't extremely close, granted, but she still considered him one of her friends, probably one of her first ones that she'd made at Hogwarts. And friendship was something she would always be grateful for.

They were made with feelings and that made these cookies perfect. "Thank you, Penelope. They're brilliant." Penelope was now just waiting on Kurumi's reaction to her gift, sorta worried that she wouldn't like them considering they obviously weren't as good as the ones she made, and Kurumi would probably be able to tell. Maybe she'd offer Penelope lessons on baking these things properly or...
...hug her?
Penelope hadn't expected that, but she quickly returned the hug, wrapping her arms around the older girl. She smiled again when Kurumi thanked her and seemed to think they were "brilliant." "You're welcome. Thank you too." She, like Gideon, had been one of her first friends at Hogwarts, and she wasn't sure she could thank any of them enough, cliché and sappy as that sounded.
