He was guessing it wasn't the fact that they had gotten kicked out of the common room or the fact that there was a man-eating plant roaming around the castle. But at least the girl had a pretty great year. That's... all that mattered.

As for him? "Yeah, mine was awesome!" Confusing. Weird. And... well... more confusing. But at least they had won the Quidditch Cup and the House Cup and... well... he was the Top Seeker! That was an AWESOME feeling! "Erm... so are you excited about the summer holidays?"

Okay, so he, Alec Blake Summers, had a PLAN for next term. Nodnod. And it was going to involve getting to know Violet a little bit more and making sure that she had the best term EVER at Hogwarts. Nodnod. And this... would need some careful planning. But it would work... right?

"Yeah? That's awesome!" he said, grinning widely, "Erm... I... are you looking forward to your birthday?" Because... he did remember her mentioning something about her birthday. Yeah... he wished he had a summer birthday as well. But... September was still an awesome month to be born in! Yeah! GRIN.

Him? Excited about his summer? "Yeah!" he said, trying his hardest not to bounce in his seat, "I get to see Dad again and... well... ice cream! I hope summer will be awesome!" ICE CREAM ICE CREAM ICE CREAM!

And then came his favourite first year.

Alec grinned widely at the mere sight of the boy. Over the past year, Alec had grown to become accustomed to having this boy around. And hopefully, they'd get to hang out even more in the future. Alec had a funny feeling he'd need someone to do his Arithmancy homework with. And the little Keeper dude was really good at Arithmancy!

... Although... hadn't he shouted something along the lines of 'Aunt Hadley' back at the party? GRIN.

The Hufflepuff shuffled along the bench a little until he was sitting right near the first year. "Pao!" 'Cause he wasn't going to let awesome Keeper dude sit on his own. "Thirteen blocked shots! Congrats! Erm... I'm proud of you." Because... well... he hadn't gotten a chance to say it to him earlier, had he?

Oh! And another small thing... "Erm... so are you excited about the summer?"

Belle was an easily excitable person too! Yeah! Alec liked people like that. They were awesome and... well... usually really happy! Which was also awesome! And that's why Alec decided to bounce up and down with the girl, a BIG WIDE GRIN spread across his face. This was AWESOME. Being happy and... proud. Yeah.

And that's what Belle was, right? Proud! AWESOME. "Thanks Belle!" Their Lady Prefect was proud of them! How awesome was that? "And... I'm proud of you for... well... the points!" They had gotten so many this term! And won the cup! Which was awesome! ... Wait... Belle wanted to play next term? "Belle! That's awesome! Yeah... yeah, Nessie would like it if you tried out for the team!" GRIN GRIN GRIN!

Oh... NEWTs... those sounded really, really hard. Just like the OWLs. "Erm... I... good luck for your NEWTs! I'm sure you'll do brilliantly!" he said, smiling at her, "Internships? Erm... like a job? Or... erm... experience?" That's what Dad called them, right? ... Jobs sounded scary as well. "I'm going into my fourth year!" ... He... was growing up! Yeah! "Erm... well... I'm spending most of the summer with Dad and just meeting up with friends and... yeah!" Hopefully, he could see Belle sometime over the summer. That would be awesome. "What are your plans for the summer?"

And another guy sat down somewhere close to him.

Alec tilted his head to the side and blinked at the guy. He was sure he had met the guy before. Some time. Probably. ... In the Badger Meetup Extravaganza? Or... was it before that? In his first year? Maybe? He had a funny feeling it was then. But... even whether they had met before or not, he was pretty sure he had seen the guy around, especially in the Hufflepuf Common Room.

No, but more importantly... what was his name? James? ... No... Jake? No... Joseph? ... No! Come on, Summers! He had a name that wasn't too common but... some people did have that name. A bit like his name, Alec. Blake was a lot more popular than Alec. And Summers... well... yeah.

But the guy's name... "JORY!" ... Erm... Awkward. He was not meant to sound so excited about that. "Hey... Jory!" GRIN. "Erm... excited for the summer?"

Alec smiled back at Em, glad that she was smiling. Because... people tended to smile when they were happy, right? Even if it was by a bit? And... hopefully, it meant that he, Alec, had helped to make her feel a little bit better. If that was true then... awesome! If not then... well... here's hoping that the house elves would send up ice cream for dessert today.

"Anytime Em!" he said. And that pat? That made him feel extra proud and special because... well... it meant that she was proud of him, right? And he liked it when people were proud of him. Yeah! ... The sight of another blonde haired girl caught Alec's attention and he looked up and over...

"Hulk!" he said, watching as she sat down near them. The girl looked... well... not like her usual self. Did she need to Hulk Smash something? You know, to make her feel better. Although... Alec would feel sorry for whatever she decided to Hulk Smash. Because... well... it was bound to hurt, yeah?

But... he should ask her about her... well... feelings? ... He still didn't like that word. "Hulk? Erm... everything okay?"

Sophs had to be one of the happiest people in the Great Hall right now. Well... she certainly looked it. Yeah. And that was awesome, really. People should be happy! Even if... it was a sad event. Yeah.

But back to Sophs who... was praising him? Alec grinned WIDELY at that. "Thanks Sophs! Erm... good job earning points this year!" Because she had earned LOTS right? Way more than Alec himself! "I... I guess you could say that I am... Thanks!" He couldn't wait to show the award to his Dad! He had a feeling that the guy might be proud!

And... his housemate? Alec couldn't help but grin slightly as she giggled. Yeah... he knew how that felt at times. After all, it was how he felt whenever he talked to her be- erm... so Sophs was talking... "Anytime!" he said, grinning at her, "Erm... so are you excited about the summer?"

Bliss was another cheerful person in the Great Hall, it seemed. That was good, yeah? People should really be happy as much as they could be. Yeah... even if everything was really sad right now because of people... leaving. ... People shouldn't leave. Unless they had to. But... well... no.

And then Bliss... seemed sad. Or down. Or... well... nervous? Because Alec did that sometimes when he was nervous. You know, when he wasn't ruffling his hair. That was his main nervous habit. But... back to Bliss. ... Oh. At the mention of the Seventh Years, Alec's eyes wandered over to Em and then Max and then some of the other Seventh Years. "Yeah... yeah, it's really sad that they're leaving," he said, looking back at Bliss and letting a smile cross his face, "But... erm... hey! They'll have something better to look forward to, yeah?"

Oh... so she was excited about her summer, yeah? "That's awesome! Erm... have you got any plans for the summer?" Hopefully, the two would get to meet over the summer at some point. Alec smiled back at Laura, glad that she was okay. Because... well... it couldn't be easy seeing what was going on with Sophie and Oakey, right? Yeah, he knew exactly how that felt. Even if he didn't really know exactly how Laura was feeling as of this very moment. But... at least she wasn't alone?

And, well, Laura had this mysterious older boy around her. And there was that one time where she had mentioned some guy name Mick. Was this him? ... Wait, Mick was a REAL GUY?! ... Alec had to inform that West dude about this now. Maybe... later. Probably.

But back to Laura. "That's awesome, Laura!" he said, smiling, "Erm... yeah, I'm great!" SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER! "So... erm... are you excited for the summer?" The summer was an exciting time! YEAH!

Alec GRINNED WIDELY when Ness greeted him. As far as he knew, only she used that nickname for him and... well... that was awesome! And what was more awesome was seeing the older girl out and about after that injury. That... was not cool. But it was cool to see her again so... yeah.

"Hey Captain LochNessie!" ... He... had said that already, hadn't he? That was... weird, Summers. But... she was feeling good, yeah? So... that had meant that she had recovered well, yeah? "That's awesome!" he said, still grinning at her, "Erm... well... I'm great! It's almost summer!" ... She probably knew that though, yeah?

Alec knew that when it came to talking to the older Puffer, some form of cheek pinching would come about. But was he going to complain about it? Not in a million years! Ness's cheek pinches were awesome! And... well... it meant that she was proud of the outcome of the Championship match, right? "I... yeah! Yeah, you can if you want to!" he said, grinning some more just to make sure that his cheeks were big and puffy and... well... just the way Ness's cheek pinching fingers liked them.

Him... a fourth year... that was a really weird thought, actually. And probably one that nearly freaked him out. Because... well... it seemed like yesterday that he was walking through the doors of the Great Hall as a first year who was ready to get sorted into a house. And now... he was almost halfway through his time at Hogwarts.

NOT. COOL.

But... back to Minnie. He shook his head and grinned a little. "Erm... well... I wish I was a firstie again. That would be pretty cool!" he said, nodding and grinning widely now, "And... I can't believe you're going to be a fifth year!" She was going to be taking those OWLs yeah? So... he had to make sure that his present to her for her next birthday was extra awesome. ... Eventful? That... was a pretty good description of the term, actually. Especially when it came to that wretched plant. "Yeah... yeah, you're right," he said, smiling, "Yeah! I think... we made Hadley proud this term!" And he was glad about that. Really.

As for him... "Yeah, my term was awesome!" Especially when it came to Quidditch but there was definitely other awesome things about this past term as well. Like... well... he had gotten closer to Minnie this past term, hadn't he? That was awesome! "I could never forget you, Minnie!" GRIN!

As Alec looked around at the group of people, he realised that it was getting quite big. But not the type of big where there were too many people around. But... a comfortable kind of big. Like in those movies where you have a lot of people over for Christmas dinner and everyone ate and laughed and got along well. That was pretty awesome, actually. And... well... it brought everyone together like it had now.

And Terry? Dude seemed to be really excited about his summer! Or... well... that's what it seemed like to Alec. But whether he was excited or not, hearing Terry talk about it made him smile. "Yeah? That's awesome!" Because... well... people should be excited about the summer! It was the SUMMER, after all! Ice cream galore! "I bet they've missed you as well!" Nodnod.

... Oh? "Yeah... it's sad to be separated from everyone for so long..." Even if it was only a couple of months before they'd see everyone again. ... OH! Awesome dude had an AWESOME plan! "That's an awesome plan! And... yeah! We should! Everyone in Diagon Alley hanging out together!" And getting ice cream. That was important too.

Oh... so... she hadn't met him either? That was pretty good. Because it meant that he'd meet someone new and make a new friend, yeah? Yeah. And that was always awesome, no matter what. Nodnod.

Carigan? "Hey! It's nice to meet you, Carigan," he said, shaking her hand and grinning at the girl, "Erm... I'm Alec. Alec Summers!" His surname wasn't really needed in the introduction but he actually liked his surname so... yeah. He tended to add it in.

"Yeah? Erm... I hope yours will be awesome!" Because people deserved awesome holidays! Nodnod. "Erm... so have you had a great term, Carigan?" He didn't really know her but he hadn't seen her around much so... he was hoping she had!

Awar smiled and tapped her chin, thinking, "It's hard to choose one!!" She ran her fingers through her hair. "I love the Hogsmeade weekends. It gave me a chance to spend time with my family."

Summer. Summer...What am I doing for summer?..."Nope, nothing. No plans for the summer at all."

Like in those movies where you have a lot of people over for Christmas dinner and everyone ate and laughed and got along well. That was pretty awesome, actually. And... well... it brought everyone together like it had now. And Terry? Dude seemed to be really excited about his summer! Or... well... that's what it seemed like to Alec. But whether he was excited or not, hearing Terry talk about it made him smile. "Yeah? That's awesome!" Because... well... people should be excited about the summer! It was the SUMMER, after all!
