It was surreal knowing that this would be her last night at Hogwarts and that once she got off the train the next morning she wouldn't be a Hogwarts student but a graduate. A graduate that didn't have the safety net of the castle to fall back on but the future to step in to.
It was....surreal. Humbling. Hard to swallow.
She had eventually come down after several minutes of just sitting on her bed and looking around and now she stood at the entrance to the Great Hall where she could already hear the voices of her fellow students chit chatting away. Surprisingly, she found herself smiling instead of forcing herself to like she thought she would. Just being here. Feeling the energy. The synergy. Feeling Hogwarts was enough to do that.
Taking a deep breath, Kurumi stepped fully into the Great Hall and made her way towards the Gryffindor table while idly playing with her bracelet. She spotted Selina and would have slipped immediately into the seat beside her when she notice, " Sir Nicholas! Welcome back," she chirped, bowing towards the ghost. How had he gotten out of the brooch? In fact, wasn't that the Bloody Baron over at the staff table?! How...when....why... Kurumi was just glad to see that he was alright.
He was alright, right?
Oh! And there was Gideon, who got a wave, as did Jake, Alexa, and Arabella. She had almost missed them due to the presence of a ghost that she thought would be forever trapped inside an Egyptian brooch.
Kurumi then saw Professor Bentley, looking very lovely with all those flowers in her hair, and her palms became sweaty. She hadn't expected to see her Head of House so early in the evening and, to be entirely honest, she wasn't ready to hand over the letter she had written the Herbology professor. Not yet. Not to any of the professors and those close friends. Not that Kurumi was sure she would ever really be ready. And then there was the simple question of 'How are we all?' Usually a simple fine or good would be the first thing out of the seventh year's mouth...but not now. There really was no ONE way to answer that question. Kurumi was feeling everything and yet nothing at once. " Overwhelmed," she murmured in replied without really realizing that she had spoken. " I-I-I-I mean..." Only Kurumi really didn't know what she meant.
Oh! She was forgetting something! Well, not forgetting, but just delaying something and right now it seemed like the best sort of thing to. Squeaking softly, Kurumi retrieved a box from within her robes and tapped the lid with her wand to banish it. Another swish and flick later and the Gryffindor table had a perimeter of dancing house cookies - Kurumi's signature since the end of term feast her first year. With a nostalgic smile on her lips, Kurumi slipped into the seat beside Selina and laughed softly.
It wasn't like Kurumi to be so... vague. It seemed as though her mind was a million miles away. Placing a hand on the girls shoulder, managing a small smile, she said, "I know the feeling... you'll be fine."
She would.
Life went on, and as hard as it was to say goodbye to Hogwarts, there were always opportunities to return. SPOILER!!: Daichi Quote:

The Snake immediately jumped up from the bench and took a deep breath. But instead of walking to the Gryffindor section, he flicked his wrist and his phoenix feather wand fell out of the holster he was wearing. He cleared his throat as he tried to remember the incantation he had seen in a spell book during studying for his OWLS and smiled when he remembered it.
He waved his wand quietly as to not draw attention to himself and whispered the "Incarcerous!" charm. He hadn't aimed at anyone nor Kurumi but just the ground. The spell failed though as he only produced some random sparks and Daichi sighed because he knew it would happen. "Incarcerous!" he tried again though nothing happened. "Incarcerous! Incarcerous!"
This time, a piece of rope fell on the floor and the fifth year squealed with excitement. He picked it up and wrapped one half around his arm, tightened it and as he walked to the Gryffindors the other end of the rope was dangling behind him. Hopefully no one tripped on it....
Spotting the prefect near Professor Bentley, he quietly made his way towards her until he stood next to her. Without saying anything, he grabbed her arm though not hurting her of course, and quickly wrapped the other end of the rope around her arm so that they were...tied together~! "Now you caaaan't leave~! " he said and tried his evil laugh that sounded more like a highpitched dolphin. "You'll stick with me until i graduate~!" he smiled brightly as it radiated of his face. "Oh! Professor Bentley!" he suddenly turned to the Herbology Professor. "Your hair looks really pretty with those flowers!"
Seren truly appreciated Daichi's efforts to contain Kurumi. Merlin, a part of her wishes she'd thought of it herself. Have the girl chained to Hogwarts for as possible... it was going to be such a shame to see her go.
The Slytherin's comment took her by surprise, but it manage to bring a genuine smile to her face. "Oh, thank yo Daichi... I figured it might serve to lighten the mood." Considering the events of the past month. SPOILER!!: Sir Nicholas Quote:

Floating towards the young first year Sir Nicholas gazed at her thoughtfully. "Good evening, Alexa. Is something troubling you?" The 11 year old was usually so full of life and energy but not at the moment. She looked sad.
Smiling warmly Sir Nicholas looked over at the Gryffindor prefect. "Good evening Kurumi. Thank you. Did the professor’s manage to unlock the common rooms?" He hadn’t heard any news since he had been released from his prison only something about a fire. "Ahh, evening Sir Nicholas," replied Bentley, giving the House ghost a polite nod of the head. "I just wanted to say thank you for all your help this past year... it's been most appreciated." SPOILER!!: Gideon Quote:

Make more memories to tide himself over for however long it took before more. "Do behave Keller when I'm gone..." he said said with a smirk as he teased the fourth year. Jake would be an upperclassman officially next term and he'd need to step up as one of the older, more responsible lions to set an example for the younger ones.
Gideon sat down on the nearest bench yet turned as Sir Nicholas approached the table greeting them all. It sure was nice to see the Gryffindor House Ghost back and seemingly alright as a ghost can be after the incident with the locket. "Good evening, Sir Nicholas," he greeted with a smile. "Welcome back." The ghost was one thing he would likely never see again seeing as it wasn't like he went outside Hogwarts and the seventh year wasn't exactly planning on ever being inside the castle after tomorrow.
And then Professor Bentley showed up and Gideon remembered he had left the gift for her in the common room. Inward groan though he made a note to slip it to her before the end of feast. "Good evening, Professor Bentley," he greeted, his controlling starting to falter slightly. "Nervous...definitely," Gideon admitted answering her question posed to them all. Forget bravery at times, there were just things that were bound to set people on edge. "And mostly packed."
The third and final student leader chose that time to make her appearance in the Great Hall and Gideon offered her a friendly smile as she looked around. The girl looked like it was likely she was doing the exact thing he had been doing just a short time before when he had entered...trying to take it all in and make a mental picture one last time.
He waved back as his fellow prefect and departing Gryffindor. At least there was someone he knew and was friends with that had any clue what this night was truly like. The thoughts of leaving it all and the friendships that would change. When she answered Bentley, he couldn't help but nod at the simple word she gave in response. Overwhelmed worked too. At least she didn't fail in the keeping up appearances department, the cookie maker unleashing fresh-baked house cookies for all as always.
That was Kurumi.
Gideon had let his mind wander as he starred at the table for a few moments, trying to keep himself from being anything but positive for the feast. There was no point in dwelling on anything else. It was for this reason with his thoughts distracted that he hadn't noticed the seeker until she was right up beside him and offering a white box for him to take. He took a quick peek before offering her a smile in return. "Aye...I'm sure I will. Even better as they are a gift." Something he hadn't been expecting at all and he was touched. Keep it together there, Gert, he mentally berated himself. Gideon just knew it was going to be a long twenty-four hours. "Thanks Penelope," he added truly grateful for the gesture.
Aaaaww would you look at that. Brave strong lions had their moments too... "You'll be fine. Besides, graduation doesn't happen everyday... I'm sure you'll make the most of it."
And the nerves would settle as the night progressed. Seren only hoped there wouldn't be any queasy tummies.... that could end in disaster. SPOILER!!: Selina Quote:

No one else had really arrive yet, so the empty room was a great place to be alone with her thoughts. She thought about everything possible. The past, the present, the future she was not entirely certain of- everything. And just when she thought she had it all somewhat figured out, somehow compartmentalized into boxes in her head that kept everything tidy, she heard a voice and all of thoughts became jumbled a little.
She sat up with a start and look at the person who had awoken her out of her daze and there stood Gideon. He looked a little worried to be there and talking to her and she could not blame him. The last time that they had spoken had been under very bad circumstances. Luckily for them, the end of the year seemed to gobble them up into their respective busy duties, so it gave them time to breath.
So when he said hello, she smiled warmly at him and returned, "Oh... hey there, Gi-" "-WOAH!" Selina laughed as she felt someone slide down the bench and ram straight into her, wrapping her up into a tight hug. She threw her head back with laughter at the surprise attack and then looked down to see who was her attacker. It was Keller. He made her smile and she mutually wrapped her arms around him and said with a chuckle in her voice, "Hey there, Keller. You, um, okay there?"
Nice kid. He had really grown on her since the beginning of the year. At the start of the year, he had just been Anya's boyfriend and the guy who was eternally stamping on her little lion Penelope's heart, but a lot had changed in a year. He had made her team and shown that he was a dedicated player who was willing to do what he had to do for the people he cared about, which was serious brownie points with Selina. She saw him get his heart trampled on himself and handle it better then she ever could have.
All-in-all, she had grown fond of the quirky fourth year who seemed to always be the center of team turmoil. Eh, but that was what families were for, yeah?
Turning her head to the side because Keller was still hugging her, she nodded to Sir Nicholas and said, "Hello Sir Nicholas. Are you ready for the summer break?"
Once Bentley walked into the Great Hall though, that was when Selina untangled herself from Keller's hug. She had to go and talk to her Head of House and if Keller wanted to hug her later, he could, but right now she had some things to do at this closing feast. After all... she still was not sure about how FINAL this final feast was going to be.
Turning around on her bench to face Professor Bentley, she smiled warmly at her Professor and Head of House and said, "Evening Professor. And yeah, all packed... Kurumi was on my bum about it." Literally, the seventh year had been harping her for days to get all of her things together because she did not want to have another Mortimer incident. Seriously, your bat goes missing for a YEAR and everyone thinks you aren't organized. The nerve.
As she turned back away from Bentley to talk to the Gryffindors at her table, she saw Arabella. She nodded in the seventh year's way and gave her a smile. Man, so many people were graduating.
Selina did not even need to look to her left to know who had slipped into the seat beside her own. There was something that happened when you had a best friend the way that Selina and Kurumi had their friendship- you always just knew when they were near. So she smiled sadly and put an arm around her best friend's shoulder, still without even looking at her. Picking up a lion mid-dance, Selina popped the cookie in her mouth and finally turned to look at her best friend.
She was NOT going to cry. Selina Arden Skylar did not cry- ever. It was just a sign of weakness and there was no way that she was going to do that, especially not in the Great Hall, but her eyes were misty. She was going to lose her best friend to the outside world. She would have to share her now and no doubt Kurumi was going to do amazing things. She always had.
Pulling herself a together, she grinned at her, "You ready?" Selina wasn't.
The redhead kept her arm around her best friend's shoulder as one of her favorite little lions oh who was she kidding? She loved them all... even if Anya got under her skin ninety-five percent of the time approached the table. Grinning in Penelope's direction, she asked, "Hey kiddo... ready for summer?" No doubt she would be excited to get to spend time with her friends and family. And NO ONE ELSE.
The Gryffindor Captain's repsonse made her laugh out loud, and immediately she felt a little guilty considering the circumstances of the feast and the mourning of two professors. "That's just brilliant, and I suppose someone had to?"
Organisation hadn't been her forte in school either. Packing was more of a last minute bungle. SPOILER!!: Dylan Quote:

"Hey Captain.. I know we didnt get off to the best of starts.. but being a part of the team has been really cool! You can bet your galleons you will see me on that team again next term" he said with a big grin on his face "And the bestest part? I wont be a firstie anymore!! and.. and I will be able to bring my own broom.. that will be so cool!!" he said grinning at the prospect of owning his own broom "Soo.. I just wanted to thank you.. for being" *sneaks a look at the parchment in his pocket before looking back at captain* "pa..patient with me.. and teaching me.." he says trying to remember what was written on the parchment he had just ready when he thought he had the whole thing memorised "Umm quidditch and showing me what a great sport it is" he said to her trying to remember if there was anything else "Oh yeah! and er.. thanks for keeping me safe while playing the game.. even if it was just practice" there that had to be it.. right? he quickly looked at the points on his parchment and saw that he had.. and what?! he was to give her a hug?! oh no.. no way was he doing that.. he looked at Selina and offered her his hand for a handshake instead of a hug.
He then continued walking down the table and saw Mr Prefect and he quickly took out his parchment and memorised the points he had to say which werent many, he walked upto him "Umm Mr Prefect Gideon.. I would just like to say that.. I know we havent hung out much but.. it has been cool to meet fellow gryffindors such as yourself and Selina and Kurumi." he said smiling a bit before carrying on "I would also like to say that I hope we do meet sometime so that we.. can.. " oh what was the next part dad wrote.. oh yes! "can talk and I can see what you do once you leave school" he didnt know what the importance of that was really but his dad was really wanting him to learn all that before he finished school apparently but not knowing why. "Umm so yeah.. it was good to meet you and erm.. hope we see each other around" he said also offering his hand to him for a handshake.
He then heard the professor talking to them as she came to the table "Hi Professor!" he said to her excitedly cause she was afterall his Head of House too! "I am packed and excited, but will miss the cool stuff we did this term. But maybe we could do it all again next term?" he grinned cause he would sure like to make rockets and things again once the professors would be replaced that is.. and meet some awesome creatures and plants again. He then quickly looked at his parchment and saw a piece for Professor Bentley too.. he then looked up at her and a little unhappily made his speech "Professor Bentley, I have had good fun being a part of gryffindor house and can say I was glad I was chosen for this house" he said pausing here to remember what was written "I would like to say sorry for any trouble I may have caused and .. will try not to cause any for the coming future" he smiled a little as per the instructions told him to do so before ending with "I plan to work harder next term.. and stuff" he said having forgotten what else he was supposed to say to the professor.
He then saw that Kurumi was there so he took out the parchment quickly reading over what he was to say to Kurumi, he then walked upto her "Hi Kurumi.. umm I will be sad to see you and Mr Prefect Gideon go but I know you will have more fun and adventures.. and erm.. I .. am sorry for how I started the term off for you what with the whole train climbing thing" even though it was fun.. maybe he would do it again for the new prefects.. you know just to test them out and such! He then tried to remember what else his dad had written for him to say to her..oh yeah! "Um maybe we will be able to see each other sometime during the summer breaks and stuff.. umm also maybe keep in touch and stuff" he said also offering his hand for another handshake cause he didnt do hugs "Oh! and will miss your cookies too" he said adding his own spin to his speech! Unless she sent him cookies so that he wouldnt miss them.
He then was about to sit down when he saw Sir Nicholas "Hello Sir Nicholas!" he said excitedly since you didnt get to see spooks and spirits and stuff everyday so this was quite exciting "What you gonna do over the summer break?" he asked wondering what they all did while everyone was out of school and doing their own thing.. did they ever leave the school to go someplace else or something? Dylan wondered
Merlin.
The kid was actually going to miss all the .. 'cool' stuff they'd done this term?... and wanted to do it again next term? "Well, I'm sure there will be more cool stuff to come in the future, but don't count on much of the same. After all, there's not much point in learning the same things twice." She winked at her Lion cub. Because really, they'd get new cool stuff to do, or so was the plan.
And... he made a speech?
THATWASSOSWEET... in a strange way. "Thank you, and I look forward to working with you more next term." So she could keep an eye on him... and his progress of course.
