Alice was sure that by now, the shoe beatings, the stomping, and the chomping had no effect whatsoever on the monster plant. She released her toothy grip on the vine and turned to Vivi and Lex. "When do bring out our wands?" Because. .you know.. this thing OBVIOUSLY didn't care that a little demon was chewing off it's tendrils over here. Or that Vivi was putting her best efforts into beating the thing with her slipper.

She bit down on a thicker tendril on Milton's wrist, but nothing seemed to be happening. What, was it totally immune to her fangs by now? She didn't know. HMPH. But the plant's reaction was very disappointing. "C'MFON, youf lousthfy pfwant! Dtho STHFOMETHFING!" This was not a very pleasurable experience for her taste buds, you know, and she really wished it would just let go of the darn plant. Alice at least thought the plant would get distracted and go for her or Lex — they did look juicier than Milton, didn't they?— but nothing was happening. "Forget about the bat!" She called to Elise. "It's not going to work! We already tried."

AND. Then. Light bulb.

"Try severing them! Cut off the vines!" YES. Finally. A breakthrough. Alice yanked her wand out of her pocket and started blasting spells at any visible part of the plant. "Diffindo. Diffindo. Diffindo." Sparks flew out of her wand and hit the plant in numerous spots, but she couldn't tell if they had managed to do any damage or not.

Well. It had to have SOME effect, yeah?
