Ever since then, Chase either wasn't there or didn't have any letters for her. It was a sad situation but the blonde accepted it. She knew her Mum and sister were there to help her father. Her father who was sick...

And that was the reason why the Slytherin went running to the Owlery. She's been having a strange feeling and a weird nightmare about something bad happening to someone in her family. Her instincts say it's her father, but the thought of it made her want to fall down helpless. She was here to know the truth.

When the blonde arrived at the place, she looked around for Chase. Where was that owl? He knew very well that Kat was at the urge to panic. "Chase!" she exclaimed. She couldn't take the tension that was swelling in her chest. "Where the firebolt are you?!" The blonde wanted to cry; Chase was the only way she could communicate to her family. And now, he has failed her.

Soon, a snowy owl flew inside one of the window and perched on a wooden stand in front of the girl. The blonde scanned her owl for a moment to see a letter tied onto Chase's leg. Kat untied the letter from her owl and gave him a quick treat so he would be contented. The blonde exhaled heavily and struggled to catch her breath. She couldn't process all the feelings she was having at the very moment. When she was finally able to unscroll the letter, the girl tried to pull herself together to see what the paper said. The parchment had blobs that looked like the ones tears could make. The handwriting, however, did not look like her mother's. The letter was written by her sister, Dianna.

Text Cut: A letter from Dianna
My dearest sister Katrina,

Honey, I hope you're okay there at Hogwarts. If you're going to ask me how I am, I'm fine. Everyone's fine here at home. In fact, Robert and I are staying here at London right now. We came here... for a reason.

Kat, Dad's dead. He died last night. Mum's grieving and Aunt Melanie came here to support Mum since I cannot for I am carrying a child. Alex arrived this morning from Durmstrang because we asked the Headmaster to excuse him, but we won't excuses you Kat. I know you have a big role at Hogwarts, like the Quidditch Team. The Healers had to restrain Mum from breaking to pieces. Kat, I'm so sorry... Nobody wanted this to happen, but it's done.

Dear, promise me you'll do well at Hogwarts despite what's happening to us right now. Continue to make us proud, especially Dad. He's always watching over you, and I know that he loves you very much. Kat, one more thing...

Dad wanted me to tell you that he's left you the baseball cap he had as a remembrance of the first baseball game you both watched.

So much love,
Your older sister Dianna

P.S. Stay strong, for Dad.

This was too much to handle. The blonde dropped the piece of parchment on the ground and covered her mouth with her hand. Her father has died. "No..." she croaked but the tears fell simultaneously with it. None of this should've happened... Kat looked up the sky, pretending her father was there looking over her. Dad, this is all for you.

Blue considered Kat another sister.

Half of Hogwarts seemed to be her unbiological sisters. Hm..Anyway, back to the matter at hand. The girl knew about how sick Kat's dad was so she suggested coming with her friend to find her owl - because Kat had a feeling something had gone seriously wrong. And these feelings..they were usually right. She followed the fourth year up the many, many flights of stairs, completely silent.

Oh dear.

Kat couldn't find Chase. "Oh. Maybe he's hunting or something...?" Never mind. Blue's voice faltered as Kat read the letter, shuffling from foot to foot, looking at all the different owls and..owl poop. She wanted Kat to have some privacy. Her head snapped back to the blond when she heard the little croak and walked over swiftly, taking the girl into her arms in a hug.

"Kat?"
She eyed the letter. "May I...?" She asked gently, nodding at the letter...even though she was pretty sure about what it said.
