The boy became vaguely aware of some sort of commotion at the edge of the building. He glanced over at a few of the students as they vocalized concerns, not really paying much attention until he heard screaming. Cora? His eyes snapped to the girl as she was very visibly distraught. The Abraxan? What was going on? "Cora.. what's happened?" he asked, brow furrowed with concern as he started to make his way over to her.. but the voice at his side made him stop. Quote:

That was, until she saw Cora come yelling and crying from a stall in the barn. What is going on?! She rushed over to her friend and tried to put her hands on her shoulders. Something about...a what? Abraxan? "Cora, what's wrong? Are you okay?" She searched her face for answers, not liking to see her upset. Eliza felt herself getting choked up and angry. Has someone done something to Cora? Why is she crying? "Professor, Cora needs you!" she called out in the direction of her teacher, not wanting to leave Cora in order to get her. "Cora, what happened?" Cora shook a bit as she looked around. She trembled, both because of how nervous she was, and how embarrassed she was to cause such a scene. She glanced at Ethan and Eliza, with a panic-stricken expression, but could not say anything. She was too overwhelmed. SPOILER!!: professor Quote:

Vanora may have been in her own little world, it was known to happen when she was talking about creatures, but she was more than certain that she had not mentioned anything about an Abraxan. And she would have mentioned that she had already fed them if it hadn't been for Eliza and little Cora's crying, and she couldn't help but make a face. She liked kids, she really did. But having to deal with them crying.. that was just something that she couldn't do. "Umm.." she glanced around nervously, hoping that a different adult would stop by and just swoop the girl away. But no such luck. And since there was talk about the winged horse making weird noises, she supposed she had to get closer anyway. Giving the Augurey a quick look, just to make sure he wasn't freaking out as much as she was, Vanora slowly made her way over to the Ravenclaw, first peeking inside the now empty stall. "It's okay, you don't have to cry." Really. She didn't. So, could she please stop? "I just left the stall unlocked, so he could leave when he woke up. Which he obviously did." She gave the stall door a tug, to show that it was indeed unlocked. "And horses do make noises, weird ones especially when they're rolling around." Which he obviously had done, going by the hay all scattered around. "He probably just went out into the pasture." So.. they.. could get back on with the lesson, yeah?
Yeah.
She eyed Cora warily before slowing backing away from her and stopping next to the Augurey once again. Back to the lesson. "Well, time is actually running out for this lesson, so instead of me bringing out the Diricawl like I had planned," not that she could find any of them now anyway, thanks to the crying. "I'm just going to bring out the final creature." And if no one could tell by the look on her face, she was beyond excited for this. Cora's wide eyes looked up at her favorite professor. The tears kept coming, as she was reassured. So it had been left unlocked. That was all? Cora realized she must have overreacted. She felt silly, and her sobs stopped as she saw the calm, yet slightly frustrated expression on the all-knowing professor. She was right. This was all silly.
While the remainder of some tears continued down her face, she smiled slightly, and wiped her face. She looked towards Ethan and Eliza, and walked towards them. SPOILER!!: Silly? Quote:

She made extra sure it was still in place before she brought it out. Anyway.. "Even though she is still considered a juvenile, the song she sings will still have some effect on you. Nothing permanent, of course. And unless you did so before, the song won't cause you to wear a badger on your head as a hat." Jokes, see. She could still joke. "The effects will last a maximum of two hours, so there is nothing to worry about." And if the effects did last longer than that, the kid was probably crazy to begin with and she would just send them to Cece.
Grabbing the stand, Vanora carefully and slowly pulled it so that she was standing in the middle of everyone with it and the bird. "If you'd rather not participate in this, even though I promise you it will be fun, you can leave now." And she wouldn't hold it against them.
She gave those who wished to leave time before pulling out her wand and removing the charm from the fwooper, and it seemed the bird realized that even before the students had. Throwing her head back, the bird opened her beak, the soothing sound of her song ringing throughout the barn.
Soothing.. soothing..
Vanora was already feeling giggly, and after a moment's time, she placed the silencing charm right back. Hehe. "You are all dismissed!"
And that was her plan all along.
She also needed to find her abraxan. Before Cora knew what was happening, she started to feel different. Odd. Strange. Silly? Maybe? She went from still having tears in her eyes to giggling happily. Huh? It dawned on her that she was already hearing the singing, but as quickly as it had started, it stopped again. Feeling uncomfortable that she had caused trouble, Cora timidly approached Professor Newlin. "Umm, Professor Newlin?" Cora's brow was furrowed apologetically. She hadn't meant to cause a scene, and tons of words jumbled together as she tried to say she was sorry. "I...sorry...interruption...badly...overreact--" Cora stopped and tried again, softly but more confidently she hoped. "Professor, I am so very sorry that I overreacted and interrupted class today. It's just that I've been so paranoid, ever since, well, you know. I guess, I just freaked." Cora took a deep breath, fiddling with her fingers nervously. "It's just that I love helping out in the barn SO MUCH, and I love all these animals. It makes me feel...helpful." Cora SO hoped that Professor Newlin would let her continue helping out. She looked at her, pleading a bit.
