Alex had been beyond relieved when he entered the classroom to see that it was normal, and not a cold, tiny dungeon like the last time he'd entered class. Wooooooot! Hopefully this meant that they were going to simply sit around and take notes--his favorite kind of class. The uneventful kind. But passwords? Why on earth would they be talking about that? Hmmm, maybe they were going to discuss the common rooms, or the portraits! Yeah, that'd be interesting!
He raised his hand. "Passwords are any words or phrases used to gain access somewhere. If you don't have the password, you don't get in, like with the common rooms. Other portraits use them as well for secret passages and such," he added.
