Mick looked down at his candy grabs, calculating the estimated total he'll have to pay for both himself and Laura. He didn't mind paying for Laura's candy, he'll still have more than enough money left even after splurging on sweets.
As he heard that her birthday already passed, a small frown appeared on his face.
Ahhh, I still want to get her something though...But he wasn't going to let that tiny let down ruin his good mood. Nope. "My birthday is May 20th," he said, with his voice perking up a little. "So, not too far away from now." One thing he likes about birthdays are the presents, and the best thing about presents is the surprise. Seeing that they'll still be in school during his birthday, Mick just wants to spend it with his friends. That will alone will be his present.
