... That meant that he had to catch three Snitches. In a Championship game. Great going, Summers.

She didn't believe in... houses? This confused the fourteen year old even more. Houses... they weren't like... like the Eater bunny! Or Santa Claus! People didn't really believe in those anymore, did they? Apart from little kids. But houses... they were definitely real. So what was this girl on about?! Alec was about to ask her something, most likely a really silly question, when the girl went on.

...

Woah.

Yeah... this was weird. And he didn't have any ice cream to offer the girl so... he nudged the packet of sweets a tad bit closer to her. "Erm... you know... the great thing about Hogwarts is, everyone who comes here belongs here," He knew what he wanted to say, yeah, but the words were just hard to form. "Sometimes... it just takes longer to... get used to it." He shrugged, hoping that the wise wizards would be proud of his... not so wise words. "What house are you part of, anyways?"

Classes... were always okay, weren't they? Yeah. Just okay. And sometimes hard. And sometimes awesome! But... she loved the food! Which was awesome! "Yeah? Wait, pygmy puffs eat muffins?" That was... new. Although, he didn't have a pygmy puff so there was no way in which he could know. "And... they have awesome sweets!" And of course, he meant the house elves but... Lotus would know that already, right?

... What... year he was in? Hadn't he said that before? Or... maybe not, actually. Frown. "I'm in my third year! So... erm... not too far off!" ... What does that even mean?

BEAM.

That's the spirit! Though, the uncertainty in his tone wasn't precisely necessary, nor helped his confidence either. But Lottie was sort of counting on him to win. It was important. VERY important for him to win.

"Thanks!" He should keep that promise.

Lottie saw the confusion on his face. Truthfully, she was the one confused. Confused because she didn't know why she'd said all those things to begin with, and why she'd said that in his presence. Reasonable people to open up to: Vickers, Spike, Louisa. Elliot, not so much. It'd make Lottie look like a softy, and she really wasn't one.

The girl noticed how the bag of sweets seemed to be closer to her than to Alec. Nice gesture, by the way. She took a couple more sweets and listened to him. No, wait, she did belong at Hogwarts, just, closer to the dungeons, not the kitchen. He...did make her feel a bit better about this, though. There had to be a reason for her to become part of the yellow population here at Hogwarts. Even if yellow didn't suit her at all. "Yours." That was her reply.

Pygmy puffs. Heh. The Head Girl had asked the same question, "I feed her a muffin as a treat, she needs to behave brilliantly to gain it, but Mags loves it. I guess not all of them do...," because this wasn't the first time she's heard this. They? "The elves? Yeah, they're the best cooks," clearly, sweets was something you also prepared in a kitchen.

Ooooh. Third year. "I guess not." Heh. She smiled. He was harmless.
