Jade looked up as someone came towards her and Althea. It was Derek looking very nervous. She pitied him since she knew that he absolutely hated crowds and having to stand up and talk in front of them.

"Hey, Derek." She said as she smiled at him taking his seat. She leaned over to him and whispered, "Don't worry-- it will be okay."

She might give him a tough time when they worked together but when they were representing the department in meetings like this one--she always had his back.
