Any class she got to sit next to him was a great class in her book.
Then she saw another familiar face and she nudged Ethan to show him he wasn't he only boy anymore and that his friend just walked in the room. "Hey Mick, Laura coming to this seminar?" She smiled at the boy still happy about how he was at the last match. He was one interesting boy and she was glad she got to become friends with him.
Minerva listened to the teacher start the lesson, when she talked about making jewelry, Minerva couldn't help but smile a bit. This would be fun, it was something different and something that wasn't on exams. A nice little break. She raised her hand when asked if she wanted to know more about making jewelry. Minerva was never one not to want to learn more things, so something like this she would jump on to learn. Then she looked around when asked about spells, putting her hand up to answer; "Would you use a sticking spell to get the fruit to stick to the chain or a necklace or the back of an ear ring?" She really wasn't sure of most of the spells, but figured that one would do something. Alicia smiled to Minerva and nodded. ”Yes, we will be using a sticking charms but honestly with fruit it’s a little hard seeing as some things like to stick more and less easily than others” she smiled over to her. But still the girl had answered – and she’d been especially polite while answering! Quote:

The third year raised her hand, a smile on her face. She totally wanted to learn how to make jewelry. Cause then she could make Gran stuff which would be nice! Oh and Sophie...Soph loved colorful stuff and fruit was definitely colorful. Mhm!
As for the second question, Ella furrowed her brow a bit in thought. What kind of spells would be used to make jewelry? Hmm..."Umm...maybe the gouging spell could be used to erm...to carve? Or um...Duro makes objects harder." Yeah. Those seemed legit. Alicia smiled over to the bright little Quote:

Even though she'd been seated at another table she got up and planted herself right next to the one person who might have been able to make her feel better. Lex gave Vivi a little wave and a small smile before slumping down and resting her head on the table, listening to the woman speak. At first she wasn't going to raise her hand but then she figured she might as well so she did. In all honesty she would have loved making jewellery if she wasn't feeling so bloody awful.
As for a spell they might use... "Could you use a transfiguration spell to change the colour of the pieces to something you like more?" Something you like more? Alicia turned her eagle eye onto the plucky first year and just felt like hmphing at her. Just to make a point but she didn’t. She just shrugged and added “You could change the color of the fruit but for now were just going to focus on capturing the fruit in a time capsule of sorts”. Quote:

You couldn't even tell some of them had been made of fruit! Her hand shot up when the professor asked who wanted to learn how to make their jewelry. It was something that she had always been interested in, but had never found the time to actually learn. And now Hogwarts had taken care of that for her. "Hmm. Maybe a spell to keep the fruit from rotting?" Or maybe there was some kind of potion or coating or something that took care of that? Quote:

Truth be told, she still thought that there was something between him and Juliet, but she was just glad to see the ridiculously wide smile on his face when he proclaimed that he had a girlfriend.
Giggling softly, Kurumi waved back at him and returned the smile - just not nearly as wide. "Congratulations, Daichi," she whispered. "Maybe sometime we can double date then?" Or, wait...that would probably be really awkward for Daichi considering how much he, well, how much he had liked her and Jonathan being together. Then again, she really wanted Daichi to get to know Lewis and be friends with him because they were both very important people to her.
Vivi got a small finger wiggle greeting back as she entered, and then Kurumi's jaw somewhat dropped when the blonde spoke in a foreign language back to the woman. Oh yeah. French. Of course Vivi would know the language considering where she had transferred from and all.
And then the lesson began and Kurumi's initial suspicions were at least confirmed. So they WERE going to make jewelry...although she was honestly hoping that they were making something as more than just an accessory. She had had enough of fashion related lessons for a life time. Fashion seminar last term. Trasfiguration this term. Now this?
Thinking for a moment, Kurumi raised her hand. "Some sort of preservation spell? Something that will make the fruit you are using not rot while also retaining its shape and color and...um...smell." If smell was something that was desired to keep around that is. Could be used as a repellent or something maybe. Attract something as well...similar to the effects of the smell of fresh strawberries...
*blush* This girl looked rather sweet, kind, maybe shy? Alicia understood shy – heck she was about as shy as night blooming jasmine herself. Any light upon her and she’d hide away. “Yes if you wished to retain the smell of course – I know there are some fruits out there that I’d rather not want to smell all the time” she chuckled softly thinking of one, Durian. She loved it though it tasted rather good but it smelled of rotten onions at first scent. Quote:

But he was here and there was a question. He raised his hand and asked "Ma'am, would we be making those metal parts in jewelry... like the earrings clip-y and hook-y things or the necklace?" if there was anything that interested him... it was always the utilitarian side of things. “Ah yes you could create the jump hooks and connectors but today to safe time – and all of your poor hands trouble I’ve brought some with me today.” She smiled, over to him and realized indeed this one must be a Ravenclaw. Her niece had been one – she always loved Ravenclaws. They were just so, so smart. Quote:

He raised his hand to answer the first question. "We'll definitely need to use a spell to prevent the fruit and veges from rotting,'' he said. Well after the spell wore off the they would begin to rot anyway unless the spell was casts again. Alicia nodded – yes rotten jewelry wasn’t good. However the coating would normally help it from rotting. Proper care would do the rest of course. Quote:

Spells. That's good enough. Kat likes spells. The blonde raised her hand, "Well, we need a possible preservation spell or a spell that would not make the fruits rot," There. She totally agreed with Lion Prefection Kurumi and the others that answered the same thing, exact or close to it. Yeah. Cool. A preservation spell – she nodded indeed one of the spells would help to preserve them. Quote:

Although not a jewelarry person, she was an artistic one. "Maybe some cutting spells" Sarah said. Alicia smiled at all the bright students who had given their answers. Some of course were spot on and others were well, not as close. With a light flick of her wand a chalkboard appeared in the front of the class with the spells that were to be used listed on the board. Quote:

Or coated them with some substance." When Alicia spotted Awar’s hand raise she felt her smile brighten. Hand raising was a wonderful sight to see not many of her former classmates had had the decency to raise their hands. Seeing times change for the better was, well, brilliant. She nodded as Awar finished her answer. "Yes indeed in fact everyone who brought up a spell to coat the fruit is entirely correct. Still, we are actually going to be using a little charm called the Glisseo what it does is basically freeze the substance and it serves to coat it in a glossy substance. That is actually what we will be using instead of Resin which is used in the mundane fruit jewelry process" she smiled softly. Quote:

Funny how she missed French now that she didn't speak it every day.
Wait. They were making jewelry?? How was this a magical activity? Vivi's chin dropped a bit as she gave the woman a loooong look. Was this a trick? Some sort of plot to get people to be girly by pretending to teach a class while secretly accessorizing them?
"Erm..." She raised her hand at the question. "What about Diffindo? A severing charm to cut the fruit into perfect slices?" "Oh wonderful deduction Miss Branxton" she smiled brightly. Even more so as she realized how many of the pupil here today actually spoke french. She missed it about as much as she missed - she was getting sidetracked.
Alicia nearly squealed with GLEE when she heard what Ira had brought up. This little girl was bright - bright eyed and bushy tailed and goodness she had sense. Messy wet fruit would never be good to deal with - you could slip and cut a finger. "Indeed, we will be using a Drying spell" she smiled over to her and looked around the room as she listened to the other answers.
Alicia smiled at all the bright students who had given their answers. Some of course were spot on and others were well, not as close. With a light flick of her wand a chalkboard appeared in the front of the class with the spells that were to be used listed on the board. "Alright everyone I know some of you may be wondering why Jewelry" she smiled to them all. With a laugh she answered her one question. "Its springtime - and we all know that means Mother's day is coming soon - why not just make something that ends up being free?" She nodded. "Now students I have heat resistant cloaks and smocks here for anyone who wants to use them because we don't want to accidentally harm someone with a hot-air charm" burns were no fun. "And for those of you who want to capture a zesty fruit such as lemon or limes or other juicy and possibly stingy-juiced fruits I have protective eye gear for you on the wall." She knew now was the time to get S-E-R-I-O-U-S. "Those of you who wish to create the fruit-trinkets in a mundane and non-magical fashion I do have a list of instructions that I can give you. The needed materials of this magical for and the mundane form can be found in the drawers of your work tables." She added quickly at the end. "Everyone please take the fruits you wish to work with from the cupboard here or the bin there and we will get started."
With a flick of her hand the instructions also appeared on the board. Step 1: Collect Materials
Step one. Grab the fruit you want to use - and the protective eye gear or heat-resistant cloaks and gloves from the pegs on the wall if you do not have them with you at present. Materials: (magical)
A Wand
Dragon-hide Gloves // Waterproof (if needed)
Protective Eyegear
Newspaper (to place fruit on when slicing)
Jump Ring (necklaces) or Ring & Earring Hooks "When you return to your work tables we will begin by cutting the fruit that you have procured by using the spell Diffindo - if you need help with the spell come to me or ask a more senior student for aid." She would have said Ravenclaw but she didn't know maybe someone else would be as equally amazing at spells.
Ooc:
1. Grab ingredients & matterials
2. Grab fruit/veggie
3. Cut fruit (and practice Diffindo)
