Elliot, Mick, Eliza Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent
Ethan slowly chewed a piece of chocolate as he sat cross-legged on his sleeping bag, his eyes fixed on some distant point. He was vaguely aware of the conversations taking place around him, his tired mind not really focusing on any of them. At the sound of a familiar voice mentioning his name, he looked up, eyes landing on Elliot. The boy sensed a bit of her familiar sarcasm in her voice, which made him smirk a tiny bit.. at least she wasn't glaring at him anymore. "Hello there, Elliot... didn't want to interrupt..." Your many, many conversations, he offered as reason for sitting down without much to say. But seriously, so much talking going on. Didn't anyone realize how late it was.. or how so very tired he was? Who could sleep with all this noise in the Great Hall created by what seemed like a hundred students all talking at the same time.
Ethan glanced up at Mick as he felt a nudge at his side and he offered his friend a tired smile. Shrugging he said, "I'm fine.. just exhausted." It seemed like this day had lasted weeks. He had started to zone out a little as the voices buzzed around him and he glanced at a few that surrounded him. His eyes fell on Eliza and he offered her a little smile. The boy thought of the little notes she had jotted down and thought for a second about talking to her some more about them.. though it would probably be best to wait till morning when he had gotten enough sleep to think clearly. Besides she had started to talking to another young girl and he turned his attention back to the two closest to him.
Catching the tail end of a conversation, Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Honestly, Elliot," his tired voice a bit raspy at this point. "Don't you think that's a bit of a sensitive subject for you to be so flippant about?" Eh.. it was obvious the girl was curious, but divorce was such a personal issue... and for all he knew it could bring up all sorts of bad memories for his friend. And that was probably the last thing Mick needed on a day like today.
