Well, things were coming along nicely, and no one had melted a cauldron or drove the professor into a fit of anger. Strange. Sierra quietly reached for her mortar and pestle then looked it over to make sure it was clean. She thought so, but because she kept second guessing herself, she decided to clean it.
After doing so, she put the two tablespoons of poppy seeds into then began grinding them. When the seeds were nothing but dust, which seemed to take quite a while, she broke up the Valerian. She tossed the Valerian into the mortar, as well, and then she crushed it together with the poppy seeds.
All done now. Well, almost. She tilted the mixture above the cauldron and dumped its contents inside.
