She pointed her wand at an orange ball, deciding that this was a good time to try the spell non-verbally. Only... Kurumi seemed to be trying to stare a hole through the ball and basket and into the floor, and Vivi was fully distracted by that.
"Nonverbal? I'll race you."
Sigh. This wasn't working. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to what nonverbal spells Kurumi could do and what ones she couldn't. Banishing was clearly on the list of couldn't for the time being though.
Mostly just to prove to herself that she could still perform the spell, she concentrated on the yellow ball again and flicked her wand lazily towards one of the baskets. "
Depulso." The yellow ball shot across the room, entirely missed the basket, hit the wall, and then came to a rolling stop at her feet. Sighing, Kurumi bent down to pick up the ball when Vivi came by.

Race? What did you have in mind?" she asked with a small grin. Whoever could empty one of the ball filled baskets the fastest? Kurumi had the feeling that Vivi would have the upper hand in whatever task they settled on, but some friendly competition might help motivate her magic to cooperate more.
