Glancing down at her watch as she entered the square she realized that she was a good ten minutes late. Quite the improvement if you asked any of her friends. Her relative earliness should have been commended; it took her what seemed like forever to choose the right shoes. You couldn't exactly go walking around in something that would get uncomfortable now could you? Nope.
Spotting Dominic in the distance she hurried over with an apologetic smile. "Time just seems to move so much faster in Italy, doesn't it?" That was her excuse because there was no way she was going to admit to spending so much time decided on footwear. "Now then, what should we do first?" The excitement was quite evident in her tone as she began scanning the area. There was soooo much! She would have started giving suggestions but from fear of being over bearing she let him decide, after all this was as much his vacation as it was hers. Two minutes to go ... and she still wasn't here. Dominic was in half a mind to walk over to the pizzaria and grab a slice. It was Italy; he couldn't NOT have pizza in Italy. But ten minutes later, eight minutes passed their arranged time to meet, he was still seated on the bench. Waiting. She couldn't be THAT much longer, could she? He never staked her out to be one of those 'girly girls' who took hours to get ready, but apparently, he hadn't lost his touch in his inability to perceive girls correctly.
Just as he was about to get up to find that pizza place, he saw her in the distance coming toward him. "It's the same time as London ... It's actually just whenever you're not working, time moves faster." Or some logic like that. Time moves fast when you're having fun? Shrugging it off, he nodded. "No matter though. You're here now. And I'm still starved. I think we should check out authentic Italian pizza first ... I saw a place on my way from the hotel. But after that, well, how do you feel about art?" He liked art; but somehow he had a distinct feeling she wasn't going to appreciate it the way he did.
