After making her way to the great hall, the fifth year remained standing and glimpsed at the decorations. Obviously, the first thing she noticed was the Christmas tree in the center of the room. Gwendolyn eventually headed over towards the giant Christmas tree and examined the decorations which were being placed on the branches before making her way to the box, which lay at the base of the tree. After picking a random ornament, the Ravenclaw glimpsed back at the tree, eventually picking a spot for the decoration.
Jory was just looking through the box next to him and wasn't paying attention to the person who just approached the tree. It wasn't until he placed the candy cane on the tree that he noticed it was Gwen. She was actually smiling. A real smile, too.
"Gwen!'' Jory called as he left the spot he was decorating as going over to his friend.
"Hello,'' he said.
"Nice smile." He grinned- it was one of those rare times when he saw a smiling Gwen.
"How are you?''
