Milton looked away from Anya. He probably shouldn't have said that, but he couldn't help it. It was true.
"I'm not saying it's all your fault." It was both of theirs.
"Okay, you're right. I left. But I had to, Anya. You know that." He pointed his finger at her while he spoke.
"We both wanted things to stay the same, but they couldn't. They can't." Even THIS wasn't working. Whatever this was. Pretending to ignore each other, pretending like they didn't care, when they really actually did.
