If anyone in Florence wants to choose a meeting place, the best place to choose is Piazza della Signoria, also known as Signoria Square. It is the main historical center of all of Florence, location of the famous “Bonfire of the Vanities”, and the political hub of the city, and is named after the Palazzo della Signoria, also known as the Palazzo Vecchio, which can be found here. Art lovers can find much to enjoy here as well, due to the many statues on display in the square. One can see a replica of Michelangelo’s David, along with several other gorgeous examples of sixteenth-century Renaissance sculpture, and the Uffizi Gallery is also located nearby, along with the Ponte Vecchio and the Piazza del Duomo.
