Maybe if she wore pajamas AND a jumper AND the thickest socks possible, maybe then, Vivi would be warm. Maybe. She huddled in the middle of the bed with the curtains shoved back, surrounded by stacks of books, but Vivi was considering pulling her blanket up around her shoulders.
The tragic part was that it wasn't even winter yet. How cold was this poorly insulated tower going to be in winter? Maybe two pairs of socks? Maybe she could light Louisa's bed on fire while the girl was out of the room and finally be warm again?
