Messer listened carefully while the older explained her drawing to him. "When did you start drawing?" She probably start to do it when she was a little kid because she's pretty good.
And there's another smirk.
Ravenclaw? That's surprise him because her smirk and cold tone speak other things. "I'm a Hufflepuff." And proud of it. "What year are you in?" She definitely doesn't look like a third year like him. Maybe a forth or fifth year?
Gwen just found it funny that the kid thought she was an artist. Suppressing a smirk, the fifth year looked back at her sketch. After drawing a few more lines on the nearly empty piece of parchment, the fifth year heard him say something. Raising her eyes from the sketchbook, Gwendolyn drew her attention back to the other student. When did she start drawing?
‘Umm...’ Four... maybe five years ago? No, it had to be longer than that. Seven years, maybe? It was odd, but Gwen couldn’t remember. Even as a kid, she used to draw... Nevermind how bad the sketch would look in the end.
‘I don’t know exactly’, she finally said.
‘Do you draw too?’
Hmm. Why did he look so surprised when she told him she was a Ravenclaw? You would think that she would have gotten used to all the people thinking she was a Slytherin by now. Oh well...
Gwen continued to scribble something on the page of the notebook, glimpsing from time to time at the part of the courtyard in front of her.
‘Fifth’, she said curtly, not minding to look back at Messer.
Please don’t be one of the people who always like to point out that I’ll be taking OWLs this year, the Ravenclaw thought.
‘How about you?’, Gwendolyn asked the Hufflepuff, hoping that he wouldn’t mention the OWLs.
