Dreams, eh? Well she guessed it was one of the more interesting forms of divination, especially since everyone dreamed, not just seers. For the first few minutes Silvia sat quietly, just listening as she usually did. But then the next question came up. REM. Ooooh, Silvia knew about that. A lot about it, it seemed as the quiet Ravenclaw raised her hand and began to speak...

"REM stands for rapid eye movement. It occurs when we sleep and, as the name implies, it involves the rapid movement of the eyes. It doesn't happen during the entire time we are asleep, but occurs on and off throughout sleep, and it tends to occur more often the longer we are asleep. During this time is when we dream the most, and those dreams tend to be more vivid. The outer body also experiences a sort of paralysis during REM, even though the heart rate is increased, and it can be difficult to wake someone up during it."

PHEW! Okay, that was probably way more than enough, though Silvia was tempted to make a few more points about sleep stages; but she had talked enough for the moment. Rarely did she give such detailed answers in any class. Clearly she had been reading too much psychology of late; her current reading obsession it seemed.
