Dani...how was she doing in France?! Was she being eaten alive by all those snooty girls?! Hopefully not, or Elliot would be finding and torturing many French girls over the summer...hmph.
Elliot, too, saw the ghost glide in...Merlin, she never came in here! Elliot eyed her, and on hearing the boy's comment snorted..."Well obviously you're in the right house...good job," she said super sarcastically...she wondered what in the world the Grey Lady was doing in here!
Wait..
what?
Ethan stared at Elliot in disbelief.
She knew Cora? That wasn't exactly far-fetched as they were all in the same house... but she was waving to her like they were good friends... and
that wasn't possible. How could someone as sweet and kind as Cora be friends with someone as sharp-tongued and entitled as the girl next to him? No matter how smart the Sorting Hat claimed him to be, that was something the boy could not wrap his head around. Nope, there had to be some ulterior motive the girl had for calling to Cora, he thought, as he narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
His expression softened considerably, however, as the girl then mentioned his old school. Was that concern written on her face? Perhaps she wasn't as self-absorbed as the boy thought.
"I'm sure she'll love it there," he began.
"The classes are a bit different than they are here... not really in a bad way though. On weekends, sometimes we would visit Vias Plage... The palace, the food, everything was just... magnificent." Okay, now he was really missing the place. Guh, he hated that homesick feeling...
"Does she speak French?" Of course there would be assistance if she needed it, but it did help to speak the language.
"The name's Ethan, by the way," he added as an after-thought. If they were going to have an actual conversation, they might as well know who they were talking to. He assumed her name was Elliot only because the chair-tipper called her that.
His attention turned back to the ghost. Ethan ignored the sarcastic tone in favor of noticing how unfazed she was by the spectral presence. Obviously she was used to her. He leaned forward and said in a hushed tone,
"If you know her so well then, who is she?" And why was she gracing them with her presence? Curious.
