A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
He knew that he couldn't put down the cake. He knew it but it was still worth the shot and try right? Holding the cake with the flame on it was scary enough but when Kurumi told him he needed to continue looking at the flame he got even more scared.
It always seemed as if the Slytherin was spacing out back to the past whenever he looked at fire. His brown eyes, the same color as the cake were slowly moving to the front and then looked down at the candle. He felt the nervous sweat break out on his forehead and he gulped.
He kept looking though as Kurumi continued to ask questions. It was impolite to look away when someone was talking right? So he used this excuse to look away from the flame and to the Prefect. "Y-yes.." he whispered with a stutter. He was aware of how small the flame was and how easy it was to put it out.
Why was he so afraid of a small fire? He bit his lip and waited a moment before he answered. "Because...it happened with just...just one candle" he finally said and now that he looked at the flame again his eyes shifted from fear to sadness. It terrified him the most that such a small little thing could create so much chaos and change his life forever. "N-nothing? But we can now use a aguamenti charm on the fire when it breaks out!" he said . "I didn't know back then! i mean..i was just seven..and it was hot and confusing, the smoke.." He began to ramble sentences at a great speed and his breathing intensified. "It's my fault..i said that she was mean..and.." He wanted to keep the tears in and so far he was successfull, his eyes did glisten though as he thought about his painful memories. Which were probably confusing for Kurumi.
