Good. That was the sort of positive reaction Kurumi had been hoping for. So...maybe this was going to work after all. She could only hope. It was baby steps and it wasn't as though she were literally about to ask him to walk through fire. Kurumi was pretty convinced that they would never get to that step.

"I know it isn't," she laughed, tucking some of her long black hair behind her ear. "I just know you like chocolate cake." She looked Daichi straight in the eyes now, craning her neck a little since he was so tall, and took a deep breath. She was just about to speak when Daichi was already thanking her...only she hadn't done anything...yet. She wanted to ask for what, but she sort of had an inkling that she knew. "Don't thank me yet," she winked. "Let's get you through step one before we do that."

Then, without another moment of hesitation, Kurumi pointed her wand at the candle and cast a silent Incendio. The effect was instant, the green candle glowing bright with a small flame, and Kurumi lowered her wand to meet Daichi's gaze again. "Okay...how do you feel now? Everything. Share every thought you are having now...with just the one flame."
