List of Herbs; Oregano, Peppermint, Lavender, Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Catnip
November

Plant Details - Oregano; has pinkish-purple flowers and olive green leaves shaped like spades
Common Uses - Culinary (flavouring) ; Medicinal (antiseptic/antioxidant)
Personal Uses - Sprinkling some on tasteless pizza because the elves can't ALWAYS cook fantastically. Pizza would be very icky-tasting without it. Ode to Oregano.

Plant Details - Peppermint; has a smooth stem that is almost square-like, wide, dark green leaves that feel fuzzy, and violet blooms
Common Uses - Culinary (flavouring in teas, ice creams, chewing gum, candies) ; Medicinal (toothpaste)
Personal Uses - Offering mints to some ickle children who don't realize that there is something called bad breath and that they have it. The world would be very smelly without mint.

Plant Details - Lavender; has miniature purple flowers, leaves are slightly toothed and covered in fuzzy hairs, grows short and bushy
Common Uses - Culinary (flavouring in teas, baked goods) ; Medicinal ( treatments/creams for aches or burns) ; Perfume (body sprays, lotions, candles)
Personal Use - Hopped down to the Kitchens to get a cup of tea, sweetened with lavender, after Quidditch practice, because I was chilled to the bone and I felt tired. And what's better for the cold, worn bones of a little girl than some sweet, hot tea?

Plant Details - Aloe Vera; has succulent, fleshy leaves, spiky and toothed
Common Uses - Medicinal (lotion, laxative, ointment, gel, other forms that remedy skin conditions, asthma, eczema, diabetes, epilepsy, burns)
Personal Use - Rubbing some on my hands to keep them soft because I would prefer not to have bear paws, thanks. The keeps your skin silky smooth and not at all rough, dry, or cracked. It's, in my opinion, the most reliable lotion ingredient you can find. Works very well.

December

Plant Details - Chamomile; nearly daisy-like with soft white petals and a yellow center
Common Uses - Culinary (teas) ; Medicinal (sedative for inflamation, abdominal pains, congestion, indigestion, headaches, nausea)
Personal Use - Had a bad cold, so I drank some chamomile tea. It is very calming, soothing, and it tasted almost as sweet as the lavendar tea. I felt much better the next morning. This stuff works wonders!

Plant Details - Catnip; white blossoms with greyish-green leaves and lilac-coloured spots
Common Uses - Medicinal (Anesthetic, Antibiotic, Anti-Rheumatic, Antispasmodic, muscular aches/pains, etc.) Culinary (Teas, aromatic herb in salads)
Personal Use - Had some salad with catnip in it the other day. It has a unique scent, very intriguing. I enjoyed it, I'm going to have another helping next week.
