He was a brilliant strategist, how could he have not come up with a working plan by now? As he watched his friend walk to the window, cradling Ro in his hands, he saw any last hope of getting Jez back disappear with it.
When a first year asked him what was going on, he just shot him the cruelest look he could muster up. With his eyes, he said what he wanted to say out loud. "What you don't know can't hurt you, kid." And Matt didn't want to see Team Wolf hurt anybody else. The list was too long already. Matt relaxed his expression and let out a deep sigh. "I'm sorry," he said to the student, "This is something that nobody else can be a part of. For safety reasons." He then looked over to his girlfriend. "Hey Pam, wanna go play some Wizard's Chess?" Maybe he should ask an other person about the it. "By the way! I am Surya, Fourth Year." he replied back.
Surya went to the window where the boy was holding the poor animal."Hello! You are Nate aren't you? I am Surya, Your friend there has refused to tell me anything about what has just happened. I can understand it clearly that you people are in some kind of a mystery and it's wrong of me to interfere. But my levels of curiosity are very high. Please I beg you, please tell me what's going on with you people!" he pleaded the boy. Quote:

There would always be someone to watch their back. But the more people that got added, the more complicated things got.
She was watching the boy walk up to Nate, as Matt asked her to play wizards chess. She took a moment to decide. On one had, she could use somthing to ease her mind. To distract her from the event of today. But on the other hand, she wasn't very good at Wizard's Chess, and didn't feel like losing against Matt. Again.
"No." She said with a sigh. "But I would like to go elsewhere." She didn't neccessarily mean another room, or area. They could easily just move to a couch near the fire, or into another section of the commons. She just wanted to get away from this spot. Anywhere would be better than here.
Nate was already angry at the entire situation before Matt's apparently nonchalant request for a game of chess, but hearing that come from his mouth after what had happened made Nate's anger flare up. He kept his same grim expression, though, unable to be changed. Pam's declination of Matt's offer made Nate feel a bit better--at least she understood the gravity of the situation--but it was still nothing that could help him much. As Nate was staring out the window at the late-afternoon sun, just starting to descend over the lake, another fourth year walked up, evidently already knowing him by name. "Nate? That's me," he said, shaking the boy's hand, "Nice to meet you, Surya." There was no way he was telling this kid the truth. If he did, Surya would be dead within a week of the next summer. "This is my cat," he lied, "she was accidentally petrified when I was practicing some spells earlier." He sniffed a bit. "She never woke up." It was a very helpful combination when a great liar had actual misery to cover up his story. After having finished his lie, Nate went back to staring out the window, wiping a small tear off of his cheek with his robe sleeve.
