Penelope took out her cloak and boots though and, after considering it, decided she wanted to put her backpack in the trunk. There were mostly just textbooks in there, but she doubted she'd have any better luck reading wet textbooks over dry ones. If she was going to attempt to read those things, they needed to stay dry. So she placed that in the trunk then went back to the spot she'd previously occupied and waited for the lesson to continue.
