The badger was sort of surprised to hear Gwen name one of Linkin Park's songs. "Yes, that's right,'' he said smiling. "That's one of my favourites, incidentally,'' he added. He owned all their albums and had probably listened to them countless times. "You a fan of rock music?'' That was his favourite genre. "And do you listen to any other artistes?''
Jory shook his head and grinned. "Looks can be deceiving,'' he said. "Nope, I'm not. It's just you didn't react the way I had expected you to after what I just told you.'' What did he expect? An angry or happy Gwen? Her whispering furiously at him for falling for her best friend? But it wasn't her just sitting there and looking...satisfied?... relieved? Suddenly, something dawned on him. "Did you suspect that?'' he asked feeling panicky again. Had he shown his emotions?
Gwen listened to him talk about famous people in the muggle world, before Jory started asking her a few questions.
‘Well, I enjoy reading pretty much anything…’ Ughh. She sounded like such a nerd.
‘I’m quite fond of the tragicomedies’ True.
‘As about the movies, I enjoy dramas, but I don’t really like action movies’ Those where sometimes really boring. After she finished talking, the fifth year heard Jory say something.
‘Thanks’, she told him, as a reply to his offer of burrowing any books.
‘I really want to read one of the crime books you have been talking about’ Hmmm. But there had to be a lot of that kind.
‘By the way… isn’t there a famous muggle author… Agatha Christie?’ Just a guess. She didn’t know a lot about muggle authors.
But it looked like she was right about the Linkin Park song.
‘My favourite genre’, she answered his question about rock music.
‘But I don’t listen to muggle music very often’ Yes, mostly wizard bands...
‘You might have heard of umm…’ Hmm. Someone famous from the wizarding world…
‘… the Weird Sisters?’ The ones with the hippogriff song. Jory
had to know them.
Hmm. Looks can be deceiving?
‘How did you expect me to react?’, she questioned, though she heard the Hufflepuff say something else next… Did she suspect that?
No. Maybe it would have been better if she would have suspected it before Ari told her that on the train ride. Ughh. She had reacted like it was a calamity. And now… well… how else could she have reacted? At least now her job was done. But what could she reply to Jory?
‘Not exactly’ True. She wouldn’t have suspected it if the Gryffindor hadn’t told her that before…
