As much as Violet wanted to scold the redhead for being so rude to the wailing spirit, she knew that it probably wasn't the time for that. Then Violet had also noticed that Peeves had entered the girls' bathroom.

The blonde looked at her friend who wanted an answer to Violet's unfinished last statement. She bit her lower lip lowering her head. Deep down Violet knew that Selina should have known very well what Violet was trying to say. Especially after Selina had witnessed what had happened to Violet & Chris' relationship back in their third year. She tried to find the right words at what to say, knowing that Selina would want an answer. Violet blinked a couple of times trying to prevent any tears from coming, that she could already feel trying to fight their way out. She breathed slowly as she started,"I-I'm not saying that Elektra was right for saying what she did.." Violet paused,"...And I'm not saying that you and Gideon are at risk of breaking up at all..." She looked at Selina directly,"I...I just don't want you to think that....That there's never the possibility that it couldn't happen..."

'Oh, you would think I would be alright after all that had happened..'

Violet then finished with saying slowly,"...I should know.."

When Violet spoke, Selina was eerily silent. Every word the veela spoke the sixth year hung on like it was the most important thing she would ever hear in her entire life. She wanted to soak it all up because she was having a very hard time processing exactly what Violet was implying. As much as Violet was verbalizing that her and Gideon were not in danger of breaking up, she did not think that the blonde actually meant that. The topic was so sensitive to Violet- what with everything that had occurred between her and Chris- that the sixth year Hufflepuff’s eyes seemed to translate a whole other story than what she was saying. Did Violet think that her and Gideon were going to break up?

Her blue eyes blinked once Violet was done speaking. She needed a moment to clear her head while she processed Violet's words. Selina had to apparently come to terms with the fact that it could happen. Did that mean that she was at risk for it happening? It must have if Violet had said such a thing. What did Violet know that Selina did not? There must have been something that Violet was keeping from her.

I should know.

That statement just about broke Selina's heart. She knew first hand just how upset Violet had been about her and Chris' break up. It had been nearly two years now and the girl was still scarred from the experience. Christopher James had hurt her heart in such a way that Violet had never repaired. She would know about heart break. Her more than anyone she knew. Every in this school cried about broken hearts, but Violet actually knew what a real broken heart was. Selina did not envy her. She did not really know what that felt like and she never wished to know.

The Gryffindor put her hand on Violet's shoulder softly, "Violet, I'm sorry. You have no idea how sorry I am for you. But... you can't let what happened with you and Chris define me and my relationship. I need you to tell me... was Elektra right?" Because Selina was terribly afraid that the Slytherin was right. Almost two and a half years. Did that mean that they were reaching the end?
