He splashed his feet around a little, a small childish grin spreading across this face.
This was awesome!
But then someone flopped down on the grass next to him and he immediately stopped splashing. He didn't want to get water in the girl's eyes and he didn't want to come across as being childish or anything. After all, he was fourteen now! He was meant to be on the way to being like one of the cool, older guys. Yeah!
But hey! Wasn't this the girl he had met at the feast? On the Ravenclaw Table? And her name... Ellie? No... "Hey Elise!" GRIN! And... she still looked like someone he knew. Like... like Alice! But apart from their looks, Elise wasn't at all like Alice. Not really. Elise didn't carry around a big stick, did she? ... He hoped not!
"Erm... ice cream?" he asked, holding out the cup and spoon towards her. It was a bit cold for ice cream... but it did have hot fudge on it. And really, who didn't like ice cream?
The grass was really soft this term, much softer than Elise remembered. It was almost like walking on silk! Or sitting on silk, since that's what she was doing. Sitting down. And soaking her legs in the water.
She had the strange urge to draw the scene, but her stuff was too far away for her to even bother. But she could sketch the scene in her head. 2B pencil for the basic sketch, lighter shades in HB and darker ones in 4 and 6B. Outlines in 8B. Totally black and white. Artists called it Chiaroscuro. Light and Shade.
She was kinda spaced out when Alec greeted her, and somehow heard it as 'Hey, Alice'. Turning her head around sharply, she giggled when she realized that he was talking to her. Silly goose.
"Most people call me El or Ellie, you know?" she grinned. Except the ones she didn't like.
Elise grinned, taking the spoon and a small bit of ice cream, avoiding the fudge entirely. Putting the spoon back inside, she sloshed her legs a little in the water. Slosh, slosh.
"It's really nice," she grinned.
"But I'm allergic to the chocolate."
It seriously sucked, and Elise had yet to make the potion. Bt she'd promised Melon that they'd do it together.
