A mere two weeks into the school year and he'd already been kicked out of one school and coerced into going to a new school where he knew absolutely no one. That had to be some sort of record, he thought with a mental grumble. And not that he even had the privilege of riding to school on the Hogwarts Express along with the other students and give him the chance of actually meeting someone before he arrived. Oh no, he was hand-delivered by his mum of all people. And to top it off, he got sorted into Ravenclaw? Wasn't that the house full of bookworms? Nothing about that said fun to Ethan as he contemplated just how he ended up here.

No, the newly-sorted fifth year was not in the best of moods on his first day at Hogwarts. As he made his way through the common room, he took in a cursory glance. Just as he had expected - several groups of people already engaged in conversation. Best to settle in slowly... casually... he thought, as he began to get his bearings. He spotted a couple girls sitting at a table with open books. That certainly was the Ravenclaw stereotype, he thought with a low chuckle. At any rate, it seemed like a quiet place to get used to his new surroundings so he made a beeline for the girls' table.

"How's it going?" he greeted the girls with a brief nod and subtle smile before taking his own seat. Ethan may have been in a bad mood, but his mother taught him manners and did his best to use them with the fairer of genders.

He observed the chatter of the room for a few minutes before taking the brand-new Herbology text book from his messenger bag. That was one class he was actually looking forward to and he might as well get caught up with it, already being late to the party.
