He had almost made up his mind to just walk by - seeing as she had made it clear his company bothered her mood - but he stopped in mid-track. Contemplating to speak .. and then not speaking. What could he say?

"Umm .. " Really? What could he say?

Yes there was plenty of noise out here... plenty of splashing and blah blah, but one voice was closer AND familiar. Turning her head up to see the source she smiled weakly. "I am not sure Ummm is a proper greeting," she said as she closed her book.

Chewing her lip she looked him over a couple of times. He didn't LOOK different. Maybe he was still the same old Nathan. "Would you care to join me?"
