He wandered down to the course, dressed in brown jeans, a t-shirt and a jacket to keep the slight chill off of him. He was comfortable and he was sure that would help with this performance, at least he hoped. He didn't want to get shown up or anything. Upon entering the course he picked up the putter and a green ball and found his way to the first hole to start.
However, as he found his way over, there was a girl playing by herself. He watched her, waiting for his turn patiently. Her ball went rolling and he was fairly impressed by it. "That was pretty good" he chuckled as he stepped up for his turn.
He placed the ball down on the ground and hit it, a little more forcefully then she had done but making sure not to let it go flying and smash something, like the greenhouses. He watched it roll and thought that it wasn't too bad for a first try. "Is this your first time playing too?" he asked as he stepped away from the course and turned towards her. Her turn. A voice suddenly broke into her little inner thoughts. For a moment the idea came to her to swing at the person then say it was pure reflexes and he had startled her but then...she had a feeling that no one would believe that so instead she stared over at the boy that complimented her poor attempt at playing golf.
"It wasn't all that good actually and I think I'd feel better if I were watching the ball fly right before hearing a crashing noise." Just the truth here.
She watched him take his swing at his ball and it didn't go unnoticed that he had used a bit more force. She wanted to use force...
This was worth commenting on but then he interjected, asking if it was her first time
too. Well there, that made things not so bad! He was new at this thing too so if she were to
"accidentally" knock the ball a couple yards he wouldn't be able to tell that it was on purpose. She smiled sweetly at this thought.
"Oh yes, it is and I'm guessing you're first time too?"
Somehow the idea of golf just got a whole lot more fun.
"I'm Alexa by the way." She might as well seeing as they would be playing together and she didn't want to spend the entire time calling him boy...or the boy depending on the context.
