What the girl said next, though, did slightly amuse the not-really-easily-amused boy. Ganging up on the Hufflepuffs? Sounded like a plan to him. Even if his best friends had been in Hufflepuff. Actually, that's the reason he would gladly pick on them.

"I think as long as Hufflepuff's still around, the rest of us just look like overachievers," commented the boy, his eyes absentmindedly falling upon Hufflepuff's pitiful hourglass. Sorry badgers, but for that moment you just existed to make all the other Houses look good.

Taryn was definitely amused. "Of course you wouldn't." That was the point. Gryffindors rarely realized how obnoxious they were. There were a few exceptions of course, mostly her ~~ex-boyfriend~~ friend August.

AH! There we go! She laughed in agreement, "There's something we can agree on." She figured that wouldn't be the case for the most part, but it was a good thing, right? At least the boy was now talking some sense. "We might as well all be Ravenclaws." Taryn wouldn't mind that, really.
