They did not slide over his flushed cheeks yet but anyone who looked at the boy would notice that he was on the verge of tears.
And then... he said that he had been joking. For a second, his face lit up with the usual smile but then the thought of how he had never had gotten the chance to say goodbye crossed his mind.
"But i've never said goodbye! She was my best friend!" of course he had human friends as well but Floppy? she was the best! "This will NOT be unheard! I will go to that new Groundskeeper dude and and and... " he stomped his feet and flailed his arms to show what he was going to do.
He turned around to march to the hut but stopped. "Ehm..on other hand..uh...what is this place?" He asked pointing to the whole golf course and looked at it with a major dislike face. Yes it was shown on his face. Gaaah what was he doing? He was supposed to march over to that place! Not asked what this game was... he was NOT a chicken! He was a duck but not a chicken... Still, the thought of going alone made him feel uneasy and maaaaybe he should wait...
Edric listened without interest as Duck Boy began to complain that he'd never gotten a chance to say goodbye to 'Floppy'. He raised his eyebrows just very slightly, lazily, as he came to the realization that Floppy was a girl, not a boy like he'd assumed. Oh, oops. And then Duck Boy was threatening to bring the subject up to the groundskeeper. Edric raised only one eyebrow this time.
"Yeah, I'm sure starting up a fight with the new groundskeeper will be a good idea," agreed Edric with a nod, obviously being sarcastic.
But Duck Boy seemed to have a short attention span, as suddenly his interest shifted toward the mini golf game he had interrupted. As if he had just now realized where he was standing.
"It's a mini golf course," explained Edric simply. "Haven't you ever seen one?"
