Presley said slowly. "It intimidates me a little." And intimidation was not a familiar or entirely comfortable feeling.

No. He doesn't despise you. Maybe dislike, but you and I both know that those two aren't the same thing. And dislike we can handle," she fired back, almost instantly, her brain working quickly. She excited, but not in the good way. She felt a temper tantrum coming on.
Why are you getting so angry? STOP! she told herself, but she couldn't help it.
It was pretty much at a boiling point...until Presley said something odd.

What do you mean? Like my family..my manor...scares you?" she asked, confused, obviously.
Weren't they supposed to be FEARLESS? Elliot didn't know WHAT to think right now...Presley was behaving very below Elliot's normal expectations...
