Sitting down at the table, Annabeth looked around for Sam, she hadn't seen him at all, not on the train nor on the carriages. Shrugging she looked for anybody that she knew, which wasn't a lot of people really, she liked to keep to herself, anyway, nobody really knew she was there, sometimes, she felt as if she was invisible and nobody could see or hear her apart from Sam. Annabeth had the worst summer ever! To begin with, she had been locked in her room, and not allowed out, she was actually being starved, and then just two weeks before term started, she had run away from her guardians, the Chases, to live on the streets.

Hopefully someone would talk to her this year, then maybe, finally, she would have a new friend to talk to.
