This situation was turning out to be even worse than when she first landed on that stupid platform.
Her eyes went wide and her mouth opened slightly when she heard her say that awful word. Can't. So she couldn't help her??? Lex was about to go into full panic mode but then Vivi gave a suggestion that sounded reasonable. "Well....if you're sure that will work..." Anything to keep her away from the Hospital Wing. "then I guess we'll do that! Plus it--it doesn't hurt that badly." She lied, forcing on a smile that she was sure wasn't all that convincing but it was the best she could conjure up at the moment.
WHAAAA?!?!?!?! "Why does everyone keep mentioning stuff about dying?? And saying that no one has died in years does not make me feel any better!" In fact now she was left wondering what kilked them! "Don't panic, Short Stuff." Vivi whipped off her tie and fashioned it into a very rudimentary sling. It wouldn't do much for support, but it was tight enough to keep Lex from moving her arm around.
"Can't fix... won't fix. Trust me... you don't want to let people point a wand at you without supervision." And even still... it had to be the right KIND of supervision. "If it doesn't feel any better tomorrow, you better go to the Healer. And I want that tie back." Quote:

Well anyway Lottie got waves and smiles and such, too. She was CUTE, she was. "Jacks!" Vivi grinned at the younger girl. It was nice that SOMEONE was glad to see her, considering the reception she seemed to be getting from some glarey-faces further down the table. Not very nice.
"Did you witness that I made Hasty smile on the train? I believe you owe me a bag of Bott's beans." Yes, apparently they'd started a candy gambling ring on the train. Which reminded her... she owed Lex chocolate frogs for not getting in trouble on the train. Unless sprained things counted as trouble? Quote:

Why had she reacted that way... over the girl talking to Vickers?
...But, once again, more importantly, who WAS that girl? Staring was happening, this time from an older girl and boy from just down the table. Vivi wasn't really one for subtlety, and she turned in her seat and staaaaaaaaared back.
"Did I grow a second head, or are there nargles growing out of my ears again?" That had been SUCH a hassle. Quote:

You may want to be sorted in one place but the Hat has the gift of seeing something in you that makes you a better fit in another." And how was his portkey trip? "It was rather rough on the landing... but thats expected if one travels that way." Smirk. Thats why he would much rather fly or apparate.
He returned Vivi's lopsided grin with his own tight lipped smile, wider now of course as she was seated amongst them "Yes quite forgiven, made up for it too by being sorted into the most distinguished house." The like-minded as it were. "Did the Sorting Hat have any trouble where to put you?" he asked curiously as he eyed Alexa quickly "You're.... okay about being sorted here right?" because he has already seen two newly sorted students who seemed a little disgruntled with their placement. "The most... distinguished. It isn't exactly a difficult title to win among this bunch, is it?" She elbowed him a bit to encourage that tight little pathetic smile to blossom into something a bit more genuine. Come on, then, chappy. Only threatened your health and well being a FEW times.
"The Sorting Hat and I were in perfect accord. We ignored each other until he gave in first and saw things my way." She was so obviously supposed to be in this house. She might have had more to say, but the Headmistress spoke, and Vivi had to sink down a bit in her seat and pretend she didn't see her mother waving. Merlin.
And then... oh. House elves! Vivi wiggled her fingers a bit as they passed, wondering if they'd remember the days of changing her nappies and putting her to bed when her Pops was at the Ministry and her mother was leading staff meetings.
