He had no idea what it was like for Elliot. But it didn't matter. She hadnt expected much once he revealed that his nickname was after some muggle flying thing.
"You and my father...would kill each other..." she merely said. Because according to her father's ideology, it WAS a privilege to be pureblood, and with it came the fruits of her families' fortune. Enormous fortune it was, too. She chuckled. "HE was a slytherin..." as if to say, what can you expect?
She glanced back at wittle Wottie...hoping she was okay...and then looked back at Vickers. She had come to ELLIOT, not, VIckers...which made Elliot feel AWESOME.
hahahahHAAA!

That former frown was going away, slowly, but eventually...it was no longer there. A small smile was in place. She supposed that her being upset will only give more strength to those yellow ones over there. And she didn't want that, did she?
Plus, Elliot just made the most amazing offer she'd ever expect. "It makes me feel better, actually," she smiled, almost back to her old self again, "I'm staying here..., you know, until it's time to go...," GO, wherever, off to the Common Room...because she hardly thought the Headmistress would like to deal with her problems when they had a broken train this evening.
It wasn't until now that she finally looked up at the enchanted ceiling and smiled again. "Looks like it'll rain...," hopefully the kitchens won't flood.
OH MERLIN!
That voice!
She turned to face the now-familiar voice of the one boy who helped her get the luggage all settled, "Vickers," well, she seemed in a much better mood thanks to Elliot, "The year seems to have started in an exciting way, rather memorable, don't you agree?" he couldn't complain, it was his last and so many things had happened already.
Him and her father would kill each other? Vickers blinked back in surprise
"I-I'm not violent..." he started then gave a small shrug
"But I can agree to disagree with someone who has different ideals." Like her father obviously. He did not bother to comment about the Slytherin thing, since he knew each house was guilty of one form of imbecilic fanaticism or another, and left it at that.
His attention shifted to Lottie, whose mood seems to have improved.
"Why yes.... quite exciting and memorable " those were a choice set of words that got him to smile despite the fatigue.
"Certainly quite different from how I've been coming here to Hogwarts over the past three terms. And quite memorable for you too isnt it Lottie? You enjoyed the boat rides?" he hoped so, would've been awesome if his first trip into the castle also started with a boat ride.

This was why she asked the hat assertively nicely to put her in this house too but nooooo, the bloody thing sent her into Gryffindor. It wasn't a bad house and yeah she loved that she was now a Gryffie but that didn't excuse the fact that the hat had gone against her wishes; it would be punished.
She looked down at the crimson on her robe. "Yeah...I am...but don't worry I plan to have a special talk with that hat later on." Nothing was better than pay-back. "So how did the portkey travel go for you?" She bet he made it out just fine, he didn't seem to have any injuries...

"I can't fix it. I don't think it's broken, and we can wrap it up and keep it immobile for a while, but if it hurts that much, you probably need to see the Healer. She isn't that bad. No one's died at Hogwarts in years." True fact.
And there was Vickers. Vivi looked up from Lex's arm and gave the boy a lopsided grin. He was the sort who took the rough side of her wit and came back for more, which made him all right in her book.
"Thanks, Vick. Still sore about not knowing I was coming to Hogwarts, or am I forgiven?"
A special talk with the Hat... Vickers swallowed the chuckle and put up a concerned face for Lex's statement
"You plan to open a discussion about your sorting results?" Should he explain to her that the sorting was a one time thing?
"Maybe you'd like to give it some time... see how you like it in your House? You may want to be sorted in one place but the Hat has the gift of seeing something in you that makes you a better fit in another." And how was his portkey trip?
"It was rather rough on the landing... but thats expected if one travels that way." Smirk. Thats why he would much rather fly or apparate.
He returned Vivi's lopsided grin with his own tight lipped smile, wider now of course as she was seated amongst them
"Yes quite forgiven, made up for it too by being sorted into the most distinguished house." The like-minded as it were.
"Did the Sorting Hat have any trouble where to put you?" he asked curiously as he eyed Alexa quickly
"You're.... okay about being sorted here right?" because he has already seen two newly sorted students who seemed a little disgruntled with their placement.

But he stole the identity of a Prefect, whether he regretted it or not, and since she didn't get the chance to actually talk about that she had to keep her beaming and grins at bay. So, she just beamed. Not like a thunder beam but more like a small bulb beam.
"Thank you!" It was more of breathing out than saying the words. But it meant a lot to her to hear it from him, it was valuable from other people too but... Vickers and her had a very unique bond in her head so..
"How are you? Did you have to see the Healer? Did anything happen to you? Or... fall on you?" Because he was tall enough to have all the luggage hitting him first on their way down. OH and she forgot to point out that she now changed topics and was talking about the train breaking down.
<snip>
Those words were enough for the Ravenclaw to drop EVERYTHING she was doing, including a water pitcher and a goblet, and for her head to snap toward the talker. A blonde not-young girl, who called Vickers Vick and implied that he had been "sore" because she didn't tell him something. Which was a dead giveaway that they were friends, and on first-name-basis friends. How... lovely.
Clearing her throat, Louisa repositioned her hold on the pitcher and the glass and started pouring water again, her eyes maybe were on the water pouring process but the rest of her was waiting for HIS answer. Not that she miiiiiinded what he would say, pfft, no. Of course not. Why would she? No logical reasons. She was just curious about those things that made Vickers sore. Since they were class partners and friends too. She was totally cool.
... who was this girl, by the way? Not young enough to be a firstie and totally a new face.
<snip>
She gave him a
smile, not a scowl or a grumpy twitch or worse--a completely i'm-ignoring-you deadpan look-- but a smile, and really he was thankful for it. Heck she could've just gone all scold-y on him right away. But instead she asked how he was
"I just landed on my chest a few times--when the train stopped and when I dropped off from the portkey.... knocked the wind out of me.... got a few sore spots but no major injuries, nothing that requires a visit with the Healer...." he said as he watched the Healer storm off with a bag of something from one of the young Eagles. And did she just deduct 10 points from them? Squinty!froowwwwn. What was she so tired with nursing the injured she thought deducting points so early will give her that extra boost of energy?
*****
And he saw the Headmistress rise and as a clear ring from the goblet echoed throughout the hall, calling for their attention. Vickers listened to the new Headmistress with slight apprehension (because of what occurred with the Prefects earlier) and also with a bit of nostalgia for Tate who used to deliver the opening speech for his past two terms at Hogwarts. The red-head Truebridge certainly didnt have a bad opener of a speech, but naturally it would be expected of this Ravenclaw to look for what was familiar in a tradition he knew would be his last...
But his attention was taken by the curious sight trudging up the aisle-- ELVES carrying what looks to be a rather heavy and very
pink plant. Indeed it is their job to do such tasks but
"Wouldnt it be easier to levitate that plant instead of carrying it?" he murmured as the Elves passed by. It wasnt meant to be a smarty-pants statement, merely something that will make things more... efficient. And he knew very well that Elves can make things FLOAT.
