Pushing all that aside, Kurumi hugged him just a little more tightly and was completely oblivious to the blush that had taken over his features.

Not that she would have known what that meant anyway. She was completely oblivious to such things.

"Good! Don't go anywhere," she said, her tone somewhat serious. "At least not until I graduate because I'll miss seeing you in the common room." Which was a little unfair considering, but Kurumi rather liked Thomas. She was a little protective of him, especially after having tutored him a bit his first term at the school.

"Lips are sealed," she nodded, finally releasing him from her hug. "I'm good and summer was fantastic...but what about you?! How have you been?!" Kurumi was far more interested in hearing about him than talking about herself right now, obviously.
Tom's eyes grew wide a little as Kurumi cuddled him tighter only serving to intensify the blush to his cheeks. Lucky the hall was lit by candle light or he'd find himself even more embarrassed. The greeting was welcome nonetheless. It made him feel a less like a complete outsider.

“I don't intend to.” He replied to her 'don’t go anywhere.' “Me ma'd have a fit. An' in any case it was either go back to me maggle school or find a job. Weren't really much of a contest.” He shrugged. Graduate? Tom would miss Kurumi. REALLY miss her. She was such a warm person and had welcomed him to the school the first time around despite him losing his temper to that older boy, Josh. The situation could have turned out a lot worse if Kurumi hadn't been there. “It's your last year?” He asked her sadly. There would be a massive empty hole left in Hogwarts without Kurumi around.

He chuckled and took another bite of his cookie before proceeding to devour it in one. “Any more of them goin'?” What a gracious boy Thomas was.

He nodded as she spoke. That was good. Better than her last one then. “I've been arigh'.” He replied, not really wanting to go into detail about recent events at home and the months he was AWOL. "Fings have been uneventful really."

LIES.

There were quite a lot of new professors there and it was interesting to see their new faces, but there were other things Nessie was more interested in. She eyed her own house table and pouted.

It was packed by now..and the thought of going there involved the idea of getting lots of attention, which usually she wouldn't have minded. Today she was tired though and the last thing she wanted was to deal with was that. She still ahad no option, but maybe it wasn't a bad idea to spear just a few more moments were she was, in peace and quiet.

Her few moments didn't last too long as when she spotted a certain someone, at the Gryffindor table she almost began running full speed ahead at him. She didn't do that though, she knew she'd look silly. Instead she walked in a fairly fast manner till she snuck up behind her best friend.

Smirk.

Renesmee took her two hands and covered Tom's eyes. "Guess who?" she suppressed a giggle, not wanting to give herself completely away.
His stomach was still rumbling despite Kurumi the lifesaver with her cookies. Thomas looked down at his plate again longingly, imagining it filled with hot chicken and roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings and mash and gravy and... you get the idea... but it just made his empty stomach gurgle some more.

Urgh. <___<

A hungry Thomas was a grumpy Thomas.

He didn't see anyone approaching and didn't notice anyone behind him until the lights went out as a pair of hands were placed over his eyes, blocking out his empty plate and distracting him from feeling sorry for himself.

Guess who, came a voice from behind him.

Now Thomas may have been slow to pick things up in class, but he certainly wasn't stupid enough to not recognise that voice. He smiled, still blinded by those hands. Should he say immediately, or play along here?

“Um..” He thought for a moment. “Squeaky voice an' tiny rough hands.” He smirked as he thought aloud. “Are you one of them 'ouse elves?” He teased his best mate and grinned.

Didn't take an awful lot for Nessie to cheer up the lad.

His concern was much better than the paranoid fretting of everyone else. It made her feel more relaxed. "Tom. That's a nice name." A nice name to go along with a funky accent. Heh.

"I'm a third year.. but I'm short.." hmph. Four feet eleven inches was not an acceptable height for a thirteen year old girl. Especially not a thirteen year old QUEEN. That's why she rather liked the crutches, they added at least half a foot onto her height. "What year are you in?" And.. now he looked upset. What? Did he say something she wasn't supposed to? "Oh. Well.. I'm sure everyone is glad you're back now.." She beamed at him. He looked like he needed a smile sent his way just then.

Was he hungry? "Me too. I wish we could EAT already." Hey. Little girls needed their food.
It was broken? Thomas eyed the girl curiously. “Dont it blaady kill yer?” This girl must have a MASSIVE pain threshold. Tom was well impressed. “Make sure you do.” He added, in a sort of big brotherly way. “An' if you need a 'and to get there, I'll be 'appy to help.”

She liked his name? Tom thought it was very bland. Three letters. T.O.M. Boring really. Toooommmmmmmm.. Yeah. “Fanks.” He smiled. Yeah, he thought Alice looked quite a bit younger, maybe a second year. “I'm sure you'll catch up to everyone else soon.” He reassured her. He had to agree that she was pretty tinnny.

“I'm a fifth year... I should be a sixth year, buh I missed me Owl year. Me ma's insistin' I sit them.” Which Tom found ridiculous. She knew fine well he was going to fail.. as did he. But he was trying to keep her sweet at the moment given the hell he had put her through over the past few months. He owed her. Big time.

“Headmistress should 'urry up an' put us outtah our misery.” He mumbled, glancing over at the staff table. Everyone was hungry!
