His eyes wandered the table, and he saw the stunning redhead he'd agreed to return to teach for. He nodded in her direction. Gingers always stick together.
"You've gotta be runes, mate. Hello." Ian said and waved in the man's general direction. Quote:

"You must be so proud." Ian said to Rae-Branxton, "I understand you were a RAvenclaw as well?"
That must have been the former Headmistress' daughter... in Ravenclaw. Hecate looked at Ian and shook his head. Back in school, Ian's girlfriends had all been Ravenclaws. He liked them book-smart, they had been easier to cheat on apparently. Always studying or something... She'd never approved of his antics, but whatever. Quote:

But through her nervousness, she kept walked and kept smiling as she found her seat. She walked up to her spot giving everyone a little "hello" as she went. " Gemma." Hecate said nodding towards the woman who sat on her right. "Hello Professor..." Ian said waving at the newcomer. Quote:

She did not miss the faces there either but was in no mood to initiate conversation so she muttered a "pleasant evening all" and sunk into her seat, scowl firmly in place. "Such a beautiful woman, and such an ugly scowl..." Ian said and waved. "Turn that frown upside down... I'm Ian Amoroso, board of governors." he said and winked. Quote:

She had a really cool prefix before her name! So many things to be excited for.
With a slight skip in her step, the newly appointed Care of Magical Creatures Professor made her way up to the staff table, shooting everyone already present a grin. Her eyes briefly glanced around for Cece, but not seeing the Healer yet, she moved herself around the table and got comfortable in her own seat.
Oh, look! She could see everything from her seat! Exciting.
"Pleasure to meet you, Professor." Ian said to the woman who had just entered. Quote:

Had Hecate ridden on the train with the kids and thus been injured too? Speculate he could only do from his current position. Hecate could feel eyes on her, she turned and looked over to the Librarian whom she hadn't really spoken to last year. " Need a portrait Kitridge?" She said annoyed he was staring. Ian turned and looked over at the man. "Hey, be lucky she hasn't set you on fire..." He said and laughed. "I'm Ian Amoroso." Quote:

Dash doubted that the woman remembered him and finished off with a nod before making his way to his seat. And his seat was taken, taken by someone that was not him for some strange reason. Dash just stared before he carefully began to fold his cloak and then cleared his throat. "You are probably not aware of it, but this is my chair that you are currently sitting in. I'm not exactly a man bent on possessing silly things like chairs, but I am someone who thinks knowing the alphabet is very important. That being said, A-" Dash held out his arm and pointed over to the right, before pointing it at the left "-to Z. I encourage you to find your rightful spot." Hecate nodded to the man. "Good Day," Ian said politely. Since when were professors so territorial? Quote:

She also noticed a strange man, probably a Governor talking with the Potions Mistress. Callie gave him a small wave. " Callie..." Hecate said in greeting. She sipped on a glass of water. "Hello, professor!" He said waving back. Quote:

"Hops!" He said shaking the man's hand. "Nice to see you again, mate... we need to head down to Hogmeade and discuss things." Quote:

Originally Posted by The1HBIC Cece had seriously contemplated just skipping the Opening Feast altogether this term but in the end decided she best make an appearance. After all, they did have a new headmistress and there were members from the Board of Governors there. It probably wouldn't look so good if one of the staff members didn't show up. Besides, she had promised a certain young Slytherin that he would be seeing her soon. She didn't want him to think anything had happened to her... or his broom. Plus she wanted to be there to congratulate her cousin once he got sorted into Slytherin.
After scanning the Slytherin table and not finding either of the boys she was looking for, Cece finally made her way to the staff table where she found...
... Someone sitting in HER seat, and Dash trying to say it was HIS seat. "Your seat Dash? I do believe the last time we sat at this table, this seat here..." she said pointing to the one the clearly confused woman was sitting in, "...was my seat, not yours. Your seat is over there, on the other side of Seren." This time she pointed to the empty seat between Seren and Leo... where Dash needed to go sit. "Maybe while you're teaching this woman her alphabet, you can learn yours as well." Because the last time Cece checked the alphabet, Healer came before Herbology while History of Magic came after Herbology, meaning Dash needed to move on over to his own seat and this other woman to wherever she landed in the alphabet.
Or, Cece could just go sit at the end of the table next to Hecate since the transfiguration professor wasn't there yet. She was sure the potions mistress wouldn't mind her sitting there for a bit. Then maybe later she would just make her way down the table next to Vanora. They did have a lot of catching up to do after all. " If you wish, Cece. You may have my seat." Hecate said giving Dash a look.
Ian looked over at Hecate surprised. She was giving up HER seat? This must be the nurse. "Mademoiselle, so nice to meet you." Quote:

"One child fell into the water and I had to go in after him. Hence the reason for my attire." She would forgive him, right? After all they had once been housemates.
He was just about to relax back into his chair when he remembered something else. "Oh and if you could spare a few minutes after the feast, I would like to discuss the events at the station. I have some concerns in regards to some of your Prefects and Captains."
And if she was in agreeance with him then points would be taken. If not then he was going to have a few students helping him fertilize the grounds. " That IS your job..." Hecate said to herself, rolling her eyes. And she wasn't whispering either. Prefects and captains... She knew he wasn't talking about the Slytherin ones. Quote:

Drip. Step. Drip. Step.
She paused at the Ravenclaw table to see if those kids from the Food Trolley were Ravenclaws or hat munchers, then carried on towards the table.
Drip drop. Step. Drip drop step screeeeeeeeeech.
Because most everyone was there, and it was too tempting not to, Lainey BOPPED everyone's head down the line of present Professors. Like duck, duck, goose Staff Table style. BOP. BOP. BOP. BOP.
FINALLY, the soppy ex-professors, ex-auror, current VP of BoG arrived at her chair. Beside Rae. Sup, Rae.
She lined the trunk up with the back of her assigned and usual chair by Rae, climbed on top of it, then went over the TOP of her high back chair to take her seat. "Well. I lost my food." So that sucked. ... Weirdo Hecate thought to herself. Quote:
Originally Posted by MeredithRodneyMckay Isabelle had been late leaving home today. Scarlet had decided to play up and a cuddle from mum was the only thing to get her to sleep. But finally she'd managed to get going, having given Alastair a goodbye kiss, and stepping out in to the cold. When it promptly started raining. So Issy had turned up at the castle looking like a drowned rat. For the last 30 minutes she'd been in her office drying herself off and changing into the clothes she'd brought along to wear to the feast. Just as well she had considering she didn't really have the time to dry everything out. Her hair would have to do.
So it was with a quickened step that she entered the Great Hall and and rushed towards the staff table, giving the kids she passed a smile. Following on just behind a face she vaguely recognised, but the name escaped her. Although seeing how the woman acted upon her arrival at the table, Issy was glad she hadn't got there first. Climbing over the back of her chair, head bopping? Goodness.
She herself climbed the steps slowly, checking her seat was still in the same place, what with all the new people now there. Speaking of which, best to say hello. "Good evening!" she called out down to the unfamiliar faces, the red head in Tate's old chair presumably the new Headmistress. "Welcome to Hogwarts!" And then there was Hecate and Leo - people she knew and could perhaps have a conversation with. Although you never could tell with Hecate. "Terrible weather, isn't it?" Isabelle commented to them as she slid into her seat and straightened out her jacket. " I don't concern myself with weather, but yes, I suppose if you had a picnic planned..." She said looking at the Trasfig professor. "Helloooo down there!" Ian said waving.
