Well, she didn't want to accidentally remove the girls arm or something. Though she was upset that the healer wasn't there to help people. It was plain unprofessional.
"My summer was pretty good," Presley lied easily, surrepitously crossing her fingers under the table. A trick Leo had taught her when she was teeny. He'd told her it made the lies not count, and Pres had never been able to shake the habit. "How about yours? Did you do anything fun?"
Elise smiled gratefully, but shook her head. That kinda made her feel like a charity case. And she'd had enough of that through the summer.
"It's alright. Thanks for offering, though," she smiled. Elise'd just wait for the Headmistress to give her speech so that she could go find the healer.
"That's good," Elise nodded, totally trusting. Elise honestly didn't believe that people would lie to her, nope. Why would they? She never lied to them.
"I stayed at Erin's place this summer. She taught me how to walk in heels and introduced me to some Muggle things she liked." The reason she went there in the first place was best left unsaid. She didn't need the
"I'm so sorry"s and the
"it'll be okay"s. Because it wasn't okay.
