And no, she was not afraid of letting it flow onto her shoulders again, not at all. Her shoulders DID feel lighter than usual with nothing on them though, it wasn't usual for the seventeen years old to gather all of her hair up like that. She never liked it to be restrained and
limited. But.. tough times call for tough measures.
"
Hello. Everybody's doing okay?" she greeted the small crowd at the table recognizing Vickers, the girl that doesn't like candy (kayquilz) and her friend (HazelStone101), Gwen and Ari, Silvia and then the girl speaking to Vickers (Eriin). That last one was... interesting. Louisa kept looking at her coolly, trying to catch whatever they were talking about.
EH. Probably he was just making her feel comfy after all this hassle.
Louisa moved her attention to the rest of the empty table, no first years yet... Pity.
At least she was feeling better than she had been out in the creepy darkness, mhmm.
Gwen had been focusing on the first years who were just about to be sorted, trying to do her best to win the game she had started with Ariadne when she heard a voice greeting everybody. She raised her eyes and tracked down the source of the voice, finally managing to spot Louisa.
‘Hi!’, she greeted the older Ravenclaw. After a moment, Gwendolyn realized there was something that even Ari had told her on the train ride, after the Gryffindor came back from the corridor. Louisa was Head Girl!
‘Congratulations!’, the fifth year said with a grin.
She felt like asking Louisa at least how she was, but the girl seemed rather busy talking to the students at the Ravenclaw table. After all, they would get to talk some other time, right? Maybe at the Common Room. In the next moment, the girl heard Louisa say something, making Gwen smirk. Well. She and Ari had been best friends before even coming to Hogwarts. And that was just what the Gryffindor just replied.

'Dunno.' she smiled. 'That one was a lucky guess.' She had known Dylan before, so it was easier to guess his House. But the other firsties...'Why don't you try?' Ariadne winked. The next firstie had just been sorted into Ravenclaw, but Gwendolyn could perhaps guess the others?
She hadn't been waiting long at all. 'No, don't worry about it.' the Gryffindor waved it off and waited to see if Gwen's intuition was better than hers. Plenty of first years to go...
'You don't happen to have a piece of parchment on you?' What? Her friend liked to draw, so she just might.'We can both write our guesses.' Ari explained. They could turn this into a game.
Looking back at Ariadne, Gwen felt relieved that she hadn’t arrived that late. Good. Gwen immediately drew her attention to the first years.
‘Hmm’, she mused, eyeing the kid as the sorting hat was placed on his head.
‘Slytherin?’ That was her first guess. And it was correct.
So now it is even..., the fifth year thought and a smug appeared on her face
As one of the first years stepped out from the crowd and approached the sorting hat, Gwen tried to guess what house he would get.
‘Hufflepuff... definitely’, she chuckled. Because that kid looked just like a Puff. She was just waiting for the sorting hat to confirm that she was right... and as it announced the house of that firstie... her face just dropped.
Ravenclaw.
She glimpsed back at Ari, giving her one of those
‘Seriously?!?!’ looks.
‘Hmm?’ What was Ari saying? Gwen had been concentrating on the game, but now she decided to pay attention to what her bestie was saying.
‘No, I don’t think so...’, she said simply. They wouldn’t be needing the piece of parchment... They could just keep it in mind, right?
‘I say each guess is worth one point. But how about if you get one wrong?’ Will points be taken? Because in that case, she was back to zero... just because of that kid who was meant to be a Hufflepuff. Hmph.

But the other part liked it because Cassia freaked out a bit and that would have totally ruined the whole bigger second year act she had been trying to pull. Though Gwen already knew Cassia since her first days at Hogwarts lost and clueless. Well, but she wanted to change that impression
As she got to the Eagles' table. Cassia was grinning a toothy wide grin. Why? Because she can swear that the floor seems further! It means that she was already feeling the couple of centimeters she had grown during the summer. Pfffft..And her brother had said that it wasn’t noticeable! How else do explain the floor looking further from up here!
Breaking her stare with the floor and ending the awesomeness of a higher view! Cassia glanced at the faces trying to spot Gwen. After walking past a few students Cassia spotted her. "GWEN!" Cassia squeaked….Um too much..hopefully the eagles don't mind ear-splitting voices! And who was with Gwen, "And hey Ari!" Cassia waved at the two girls walking over to them.

She wondered briefly where the girl had gone to once they were on the train. Oh, well. They were here now. 'Hi, Cassia!' she greeted back cheerfully.
'We were just about to start a game.' the Gryffindor announced, happy that another non-Ravenclaw had joined the table. 'It's called Guess the House.' She made the name up just then. 'We get points for guessing where each firstie is gonna be sorted. Did I forget anything?' she looked at Gwen. As you can see, the game is very complex...
Gwen was getting all competitive with the game she had just started with Ariadne. But she knew that the Gryffindor was one of the people who couldn’t afford losing, so this would mean she needed to pay extra attention. What? She couldn’t admit being last either...
‘So how about that one?’ She asked, looking at the eleven-year-old girl, who was just heading to the sorting hat.
Come ooon. Think!, she told herself, but her thoughts were interrupted as she heard a voice call her name.
‘Hi!’, she greeted the young Slytherin with a grin. She moved a bit to the left to make enough room for Cassia at the table as well, but didn’t say anything else, since Ariadne already started talking about the game.
‘Umm... that’s all. I mean, you just need to make the guess before the sorting hat announces the house. Obviously’, the fith year said and then looked back at Cassia.
‘Want to join us?’ She had nothing against her playing the game. After all, it may be even more fun with more people.
And now back to the sorting ceremony... Text Cut: Vee

"Hi, is this seat taken?" Vee asked a girl who looked much older and had an empty seat next to her. She didn't really pause to realize she picked a place at the table with a lot of older students around - not that it really mattered, they were all in one house after all. And Vee was entirely too hungry to be looking around for an area of her future classmates - she just had to her her hands on some of that lemon chicken, and the potatoes which smelled as good as any french fries she'd ever had.
Gwen had been focusing on the sorting ceremony, so, even though she heard footsteps approaching the place where she was sitting at the table, she didn’t mind to look at who it was.
Mehh. Perhaps a student she didn’t even know. But then a girl asked if the seat beside her was taken, this getting Gwen’s attention.
‘Umm... no. You can sit here’, the fifth year said simply, willing to look back at the sorting ceremony. But something made her stop.
Hmmm.
Wasn’t this girl one of those first years which Ari had guessed the house for? She was. Gwen was sure about this.
'Welcome to Ravenclaw', she said. Well, even though she wasn’t very fond of younger students, this girl was a Ravenclaw, so she had to have some brains, right? This would mean that it wouldn’t be completely useless to start a conversation with her.
