And then...she scowled. "I suppose, Presley. But be careful..you're already walking a thin line..." she said, mentally prodding the girl. "And I would so ditch Da-" but she stopped mid-sentence, horrified at what she had just thought and been about to say...
But what felt even worse was that it was true. Blood was blood...but you always had to look out for number one. Especially if family members were going down the wrong path.
"We could find out, you know" Presley said suddenly, reffering to their parents line of work.
"I mean, it would be really hard, and we might get disowned or worse if they find out, but I think if we tried hard enough, we could probably figure it out." It wasn't like Presley to say things like that. It was more of Elliots job to be crazy like that.
Presley
was walking a thin line. And it was good of Elliot to remind her, but the line was with her father. Not her grandparents. Her father didn't care enough about Awar to notice what house she was in, let alone care. And her grandparents didn't care about Presley's quarrel with her father. They merely said that it was his choice where Presley stayed, and if he wasn't okay with her living with them, they they wouldn't go behind his back that way. Which was fine. That was their choice. But it didn't mean they weren't on Presley's side here.
Presley gasped. Would Elliot really leave her sister out in the cold like that? After violently claiming that Leo never should have abandoned Presley? It was pretty much the same principle.
"You really would?" she asked in shock. Not judgement, just surprise.
