When you're of age, you'll never have to worry about having a job you don't like, because your father is never going to run the inheritance dry if he's still raking in the galleon, right?" Presley wished her father would go away on business more. She didn't want him around nearly as much as he seemed to be lately.

Presley nodded. Nanny's were good. Elliot would definitely not have to deal with the little brother thing as much if a nanny was there to keep him out of her way. And her mum would be happier. This could be a good thing.

Distance herself...Presley thought about it for a second, and then dismissed the thought. "No, I couldn't. Awarlesta is to me like Dani and Sam are for you. I never had a sister, and that's practically what she is to me. She's blood, Elliot." And blood ties are unbreakable.
The blonde merely sneered. He was away TOO much. Why couldn't her mother be away...but her mother didn't work. And she couldn't go shopping as much as usual with the baby...UGH.

"I suppose. If he thinks I'm taking over the business now that Darius is here...he's dead wrong. No way I'm wasting my time with something I won't even own once the brat is seventeen..." she said bitterly. She realized that the folded hands on her lap were gripping each other with too much strength...her knuckles were white. She gritted her teeth and began to twist her necklace absentmindedly...

And she didn't even know what this business was. So how in the world did her father expect Elliot to want to be a part of it? Hmph. He had another thing COMING!

And then...she scowled. "I suppose, Presley. But be careful..you're already walking a thin line..." she said, mentally prodding the girl. "And I would so ditch Da-" but she stopped mid-sentence, horrified at what she had just thought and been about to say...

But what felt even worse was that it was true. Blood was blood...but you always had to look out for number one. Especially if family members were going down the wrong path.
