Welcoming was up to the teachers, the prefects, and the people the little buggers sat next to at the feast.
Presley frowned. In all of her worry about herself she hadn't given Elliot time to talk about her summer, which was just as bad. She mentally berated herslef, and promised to pay better attention in the future.
"Was he on business, or simply avoiding you?" Presley asked bluntly. Because if he'd been in the Morganzo Manor, and hadn't seen Elliot once, that was a lot worse than going on a business trip to Africa and not seeing her once, though both were pretty lousy.
Presley nodded seriously.
"I know. My grandparents are going to be furious. But they usually listen to me. Hufflepuffs are bad, but she's my cousin Elliot. What else am I supposed to do?" With having only one sibling, who was so much older than her, cousins were practically siblings to Presley. Especially now that her brother had turned her away.
Elliot eyed Presley vaguely before saying,
"Business." It seemed he was working a lot more than in her younger days. And it
did worry her. But they had never had...well, never had more money than they did now. So she assumed he was successful.
"And since he's not home, Mother has to deal with the baby all by herself. Which makes her cranky." Which was LOUSY. Because Josey was usually so happy. Though it annoyed Elliot, she preferred her happy mother to her cranky one.
"I think we're getting a nanny for him. Mother says she can't handle him alone." And house elves didnt really count, since Krosby had to clean and cook and everything, too.
Elliot didn't like the idea of a nanny. She had never had one, though many of her kind did. And whoever this
nanny was...Elliot would be
sure to be a
perfect little angel. NOT.
What was she supposed to do? Disownment. But Elliot merely shrugged.
"Distance yourself. Or that's what I would do." But Pres was usually a bit nicer than Elliot...so whatever.
